Can you help settle a bet?
Party A and Party B placed a small bet on which of them would be a grandfather first. Both, at this time, have married daughters. This is what the language of the contract says:
"the loser of the bet is the one whose grandchild is born first"
Now, if Party A's daughter is considering adoption, does this count as having a grandchild? Because technically the child would have already been born, and then what if Party B's daughter also adopted, but she adopted older?
I need an impartial judge (you guys) to decide if the adopted grandchild counts towards the bet.

What a mental question! Birth is all, Blood is blood. But I'd rather not have anything to do with these Grandads if that's all they are concerned about.

Is there any fine print on this contract (wager)?
To me it would seem one of the daughters has to have a baby. I'm sure when the bet was made.. that is what was meant. I'm interested in how this one turns out. If adoption counts then the party who adopts first will lose the bet and it's over. (I think) LOL

first to adopt loses i would say,,,
doesnt matter what the age of said adopted children are because they were not a part of the family before they were adopted were they?

in my humble opinion, grandchildren are grandchildren, adopted or not! they would most certainly count. but i think they would not be grandchildren until the adoption is final.
