  • Is this a legal "tag-up"?

Say a runner is on base (we'll say third) and the batter hits a pop-up to the outfield. Can the runner move behind the base (towards the left-field pole), then get a running start, so that when the outfielder catches the ball, the runner is already moving forward, tagging the base (but running through it) just after the ball is caught?

I would think it is because the base is still tagged after the ball is caught, but it may not be because the runner slightly strays from the base path.

Please specify if you are guessing or if you know.

  • Is it a penalty if...?

... someone shoots the puck, the goalie saves it, and then when the ref comes to get the puck, at the last second, the goalie snatches it away from him? (and repeats a few times, ala "you will be a true master when you can snatch the pebble from my hand")

  • If I get a second cat, will my first cat calm down?

I've got a male cat, almost 2 years old. He sometimes acts out (as if to seek attention) and gets separation anxiety. Some have said that getting a second cat will calm him down. What have you found to be true? Any suggestions?

  • If I delete the Netflix app that falls under 'game' (PS3), will it delete the one under 'tv'?

I regularly watch Netflix on my PS3. The app is under the 'TV show' heading. I also have a Netflix app under the 'Game' heading, which isn't even installed (I think I downloaded this one first). If I delete the one under 'game', will the other one work as well?

  • Is my light switch connected to nothing?

In my apartment, I have two light switches that are in rooms that have no overhead light fixtures. Now, I have lived in a house where there light switches that activated a certain outlet, so that if you leave the light in the 'on' position, the light switch essentially turns on the (plugged in) light.

I have not found this to be true in my apartment. All the outlets work with the switch in the down position. So is it just.... sitting there? Taunting me in the dark as I fumble to find the on switch?

  • Why would a business charge a higher sales tax than the state requires? Is that legal?

Went to a restaurant in Orange County, where sales tax is 8.75%. The restaurant charged me over 9%. It wasn't a gratuity issue, it was just a sandwich shop similar to Panera. Is it legal to charge more tax than necessary?

  • What can I do about my kitten being clingy?

Little Toulouse is 8 weeks old, and he's been in our apartment/away from his mother and siblings for less than a week. He's very attached to me and follows me around usually. However, at my bedtime he's not always sleepy so he jumps up on the bed and in general just wants to hang out or play with wires. So I lock him in a separate room with his litterbox, food and water; however, he'll claw at the carpet and meow until he falls asleep. So to protect the carpet, I have to put him in his carrying crate. All he wants is to be around me, but I need to sleep! What can I do to get him to just be by himself?

  • Do you ever notice? 10 points!?

Do you ever notice that many questions on YA promise an easy 10 points, when in fact, this person can only give out one set of 10 points, leaving many with unfulfilled promises?

If you want these 10 points, you should be exceedingly creative with your answer, and use good grammar and punctuation.

  • I need a good Christian worship band?

I have been disappointed with a lot of Christian worship bands (the K-Love kind), because their music and lyrics are too cookie cutter. I listen to some Christian rock, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. I like David Crowder band- he's original and musically diverse. I listened to Something Like Silas, but I haven't paid much attention to their new band, Future of Forestry.

Basically I want a band with lyrics inspirational enough to qualify as a worship band, but something besides Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman, et al.

  • What's the deal behind lesbian hair?

Do lesbians like long-haired women? If so, why do many lesbians go for the 'butch' look? Why not just wear their hair long like most women do?

  • Can you help settle a bet?

Party A and Party B placed a small bet on which of them would be a grandfather first. Both, at this time, have married daughters. This is what the language of the contract says:

"the loser of the bet is the one whose grandchild is born first"

Now, if Party A's daughter is considering adoption, does this count as having a grandchild? Because technically the child would have already been born, and then what if Party B's daughter also adopted, but she adopted older?

I need an impartial judge (you guys) to decide if the adopted grandchild counts towards the bet.

  • Should I sell my 10,000 football cards?

I have about 10,000 football cards, most in mint condition, ranging from the mid-80's to about 2000 (though most come from '90-'97). I don't have a lot of specials or rookies, though I do have some, like Torry Holt, Donavan McNabb, Ronnie Lott, etc. Should I sell them now or keep them in my closet for another couple decades?

I'd really appreciate advice from people who have worked with sports memorabilia.

  • How can I transfer fonts that I have on my Mac to Microsoft Word?

    1) I have a Mac.

    2) I have tons of fonts on this Mac.

    3) I have Microsoft Word.

    4) I want Microsoft Word to have my fonts.

    5) Number 4 isn't happening after all my fruitless efforts.

    6) No, the internet isn't helping.

    7) If I had a PC, then this wouldn't be such an issue, because Microsoft Word generally works better on Microsoft.

    8) This is where you come in.

  • When transporting a snare drum, is it best to have the snare on or off?

Because my snare doesn't sound so good, and I'm wondering if it's the way I'm transporting it. Most of the time, I turn the snare off. Any other tips for snares would be helpful.

  • Tuning drums?

I know how to basically tune my drums, but I feel like it's not very well-tuned when I'm done. Is it easier to learn by book (like from a certain method) or by experience?
