When is the right time to say OMG?
I have friends that use that term toooooo many times. I just want to know when I can tell them to stop and when it actually may be appropriate.

Really, never...but it's become part of the vernacular. We have to accept it and hope it eventually goes the route of "groovy", "hip, man," and "the Chadster".
(actually, it was Chad, himself, who used to call everyone that..:) )

Even the deities wish they said OMG like when the pudding cooks.
It is vernacular not really language actively spoken, sort of a relax
I might think quote of hip chiclets.

Use OMG (only in internet language, and never in spoken!) only when something is TRULY shocking. Like "I'm pregnant." you'd say "OMG." It's unnecessary to reply to "I don't think I got that question right on the test." life altering situations only are which require a plea to god.

Omg could mean many things:
1. They were just told or just realized something exciting or suprising
2. They are like "OMG, You need to stop doing..." or "OMG, What is..." or something like that
If this doesn't help, just change it to oh my god whenever they say it and then ask yourself if it fits

It has become and overused slang phrase
"Oh my God' or actually saying the letters "O em Gee"
They are, in, fact using God's name in vain
That may deter them.
The term is often used in sarcasm.
eg. "I broke a nail"
"OMG (get over it)"
It can be used in appopriate situations
eg. "Jimmy fell of the roof!"
"OMG!"
Hope I helped,

I know. Who in the right mind spells out 'OMG'?
The answer, no one. I guess when they say it over something stupidly insignificant, you could ask them why they say it so often

I used to know someone who said "yesh" instead of "yes" (and was not a foreigner).
Lol, I told him that it sounded like his dentures were slipping (which it did!)
He didn't say it anymore.

You don't to tell them when they should stopping because they have their own mouth and might talk when they want!!
Good luck!!

When they are surprised/shocked about something. Not when they are annoyed by anything, I still do that and it could be kind of annoying.
