It has multi modes from point and shoot to fully manual if you know about f stops and stuff.

There is a new model coming out so there are great deals on this model.

You might want to take a look at a Panasonic Lumix - they have a 12 megapixel version that is a real bargain, though you might have to pay slightly more.
