ok I asked this in R&S but no one's answered?
Question about the phrase "Merry Christmas"?
Ok...1st, I am NOT trying to offend anyone but, I was thinking about this the other day....Less and less people are saying Merry Christmas because they are afraid of being "politically incorrect". Why can we not say that anymore but everyone around the world has accepted a calendar based on a specific religion. I am aware that there are other calenders out there but, it is universally accepted that the year is 2008 A.D. which is based on the existence of Jesus Christ. Kind of weird no?
Generally I stick to P&S but this didn't fit. So I tried...and they just aren't as cool as P&S
hehe..I think I started something over there...oops

In this country we say Merry Christmas. Anyone who is offended by that needs to grow up or get out. Simple as that. Sorry. That probably isn't helpful. I'm growing tired of the PC thugs trying to sanitize everything. Maybe they need to be offended.

yeah it is weird.
im kind of a hind (but a bit more of an atheist now) and i went into a place where they were selling creams and stuff and i bought something and at the end the shop keeper said bye and i said "bye! merry christmas." and he went "im jewish." which embarresed me SO much.
also, i dont mind because i LOVE chiristmas and i dont even mind when people wish me a "happy whatever (from another faith)" because i just wish it back out of politeness.

i think it's really stupid to be afraid to say merry christmas.
i think that our country was founded on christain beliefs, and we should honor that tradition.
i'm sorry if you're offended, but 80% of our country IS some form of christanity.
so to all, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
