My friend can't get wi-fi on her iPod touch.?
Hey. My friend just got an iPod touch for Christmas, but she can't get wifi on it. She has a wireless router, but she doesn't know how to get the connection set up. I'm not there, so I can't do it for her, and I don't know the first thing about an iPod touch. Can anyone help?
Also, she has dial-up...would that affect anything?

Its very difficult to receive Wi-FI when there is interference due to dial up. The ipod touch contains a settings app on the main screen. When you click on this app, find the settings for Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi must be turned on, and you must select a wireless network to connect to. Once you have turned on Wi-Fi and selected a wireless network you must type in a password, also known as a WEP Key. This is a long set of numbers and letters located on the side of your wireless router. Once the code has been accepted you will be able to Access Wi-Fi from that location.

You can't have a wireless router AND Dial-up at the same time.
Well, you CAN, but it's really limited. When you have Dial-up, you manually have to connect to the internet each time you want to use it. With a wireless router, you are required to be connected 24/7, or else, it will not function properly. You may have a certain wireless router that allows you to connect to your dial-up service wirelessly, but you still need specific software on the computer you want to connect in order to connect, which the iPod lacks.
