If it is an electric dryer then try the obvious first, check the breaker. If it is a gas dryer then see if the ignition is sparking when you turn it on. They are usually ignited by a spark. Check to see that the breaker is on as well.

be sure the vent is clear. if no air or not enough air is flowing out, this will trip the thermal protector in the heating element in an electric machine (overheating it). while it will still turn, it will not get hot. likewise, a gas machine will will stop the gas flow. previous answer has good suggestions as well...

depending on how old your dryer is, probably the element is burned out, if your a do it yourself person, you can save yourself some money, if not get a new one.for what they charge for labor, new is cheaper
