What's a long lasting hair color, that I can buy at a drugstore?

So, I already know what color I like, very dark brown, almost black but obviously not. I was using L'Oreal Natural Match in 3N, and I like the color, but it seemed to fade fast. What's another brand with a similar color, but one that may last longer? Also, any recommendations on what shampoo and condition I should try?

Update:

I'm using permanent, and I have thick, corce, hair. Not to dry, not to oily.

I'm not sure of which drugstore brand is the best, because I'm a hairstylist and we use professional products, but are you using a permanent or semi permanent? Permanent should last a lot longer. You should also be using products for color care. There are so many to choose from, but I would suggest using a brunette care system.

A lot of that will depend on your hair type and the color you use. My hair is dry and coarse, so most products by L'Oreal and Herbal Essence tend to wash out quickly. A lot of the Revlons don't last long for me either, but for me, the burgundy color from Revlon's ColorSilk collection lasts longest. But, if I use the copper penny or auburn colors, I have to avoid Revlon all together. I think red shades are the hardest to keep. The one time I dyed my hair black, I used ColorStay.

I'm just saying that you'll probably have to try a few different brands before you find the one that suits you best because not everyone will have the same results with every product.
