The Trinity Doctrine has been described as “the central doctrine of the Christian religion?

If this were true, why did Jesus not reveal it when he was on earth?

His disciples, being Israelites, believed that Jehovah is unique. To this day, Jews continue to recite Deuteronomy 6:4: “Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.” There is no suggestion in the Hebrew Scriptures that the Supreme Being is in three persons. You may well wonder, ‘If this were true, why did this “central doctrine” not become dogma until the fourth century—amid bitter controversy that caused widespread confusion?’

the answer is he didn't. he never once said, I AM GOD ! nope never said it. and he never said to be a part of a triune god. throughout the book of john it clearly shows jesus was in subject to his father, as someone (ahead of me here) said, that he did say i and the father are one, that was at John 10:30-then the jews picked up stones to stone him because they said "you make yourself a god" in vs 36 he redefines his position to them, i said i am Gods son,,,was Jesus trying to get out of being stoned by explaining to them he was Gods Son?If he was God what difference would it make if he had said there 'i am god' but thats not what he said. he said he was gods son. and that he was doing the will of his father.

Of course you realize the jews had been waiting for the Messiah, jesus said he came to do the will of his father , the jews in that chapter say jesus although a man was making himself a god.

for the jews this was repugnant, and would be a reason to stone someone. but if he really was god, WHY, WHY didn't he identify himself .XXX

In John 14:20 - in that day you will know that i am in union with my father and you are in union with me and i am in union with you

VS 21- he that has my commandments and observes them, that one is he who loves me. In turn he that loves me will be loved by my father, and i will love him, AND PLAINLY SHOW MYSELF TO HM.

Right there Jesus said he would PLAINLY show himself, not shroud himself in a mysterious trinity.

further, in revelation 1 :1 after Jesus was in heaven , he was still under gods direction, it says " A revelation by Jesus Christ , which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.. Please believe Jehovah is pleased that you have read these answers, hopefully the foggy mystery will be blown away by winds of truth.

I can't beleive I almost forgot my favorite scriptures that cannot be danced around, 1Corrinthians 15:24-28 shows that after all things have been brought back to order, Jesus will hand over the kingdom back to his father, God

(Jehovah) , and Jesus will subject himself to God,[ Jesus Father] its so simple when you let them be individuals,

please note vrs 27 says For God "subjected all things under his feet" But when he says that all things have been subjected, it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him.>>>>>> the one who subjected all things to jesus , was God, so it is evident that subjection is with the exception of the subjector God

In my catholic studies a few years ago, I did find this Interesting, that the Catholic Jerusalem Bible renders Deuteronomy 6:4: “Listen, Israel: Yahweh our God is the one Yahweh.” And a footnote, after giving another possible translation, states: “But it is more likely that we have here a declaration of monotheistic faith.” This, then, is the one God of whom Jesus, speaking as a Jew, stated: “We worship what we know.” (John 4:22) And this Catholic Bible admits that the name of that one God is Yahweh, or Jehovah. Now, according to Trinitarian theology, Yahweh, or Jehovah, is the name of the God of the Hebrew patriarchs and the Jews, the God whom Jesus came to reveal as “the Father,” or “God the Father.” It follows that for Trinitarians the divine name Yahweh, or Jehovah, designates only one of the supposed “Three Persons” of the “Godhead.” The “Second Person” has a name (Jesus), but the “Third Person” is the anonymous “Holy Spirit.” Christendom’s churches cannot logically use a name for God that does not designate the entire “Godhead.”

Isa 66:17 says that Jehovah condemned his people for partaking in the festival of the Only One(Babylonian 3 person God) by eating pig meat. This is easily proved in history(The Two Babylons;Babylon and Nineveh, by Hislop & Layard).

This was 1500 years before Christ & is of Pagan origin. Egyptians,Assyrians,& Babylonian all had a triune God. All three of these nations were totally pagan with pagan rites & festivals that sacrificed humans & to think it's a part of Christian worship now is an insult to the true faith, the one behind this confusion is Satan(2 Co 4:4).

This is why Jehovah says at Revelation in the 17th & 18th chapter the Harlot Babylon the Great, the Empire of false religion is going to be destroyed & we are warn to get out of her if we do not want to share in her destruction. We are not to touch the unclean thing.

People today think nothing of the holidays that started in paganism like, christmas, easter,& birthdays. They think that God is three in one & part of Him don't know what the other is doing(2 Cor 4:4), they think God talks to Himself(when He was baptized He also turned into a dove & spoke from heaven to tell Himself that He was His son whom He approved?).

Jesus also said to his Apostels that they should be one like him and his Farther are one. That would make a 12 headed person, be more of a freak than person.

The only time I've seen anything with three heads it was at the movies & it was some kind of monster or in my studies of pagan Gods, pagan rites, & pagan festivals.

Trinitarians know the trinity is not explained in the Bible. So, they say the Bible implies that God is triune. Ask yourself: Why would the Bible only “imply” its most important teaching—who God is? The Bible is clear on other basic teachings; why not on this, the most important one? Would not the Creator of the universe author a book that was clear on his being a Trinity if that were the case?

The reason the Bible does not clearly teach the Trinity doctrine is simple: It is not a Bible teaching. Had God been a Trinity, he would surely have made it clear so that Jesus and his disciples could have taught it to others. And that vital information would have been included in God’s inspired Word. It would not have been left to imperfect men to struggle with centuries later.

Simply put, the trinity is not a Bible teaching.

The Trinity in the Old Testament.

The Old Testament speaks of the Trinity and certainly makes way for the fuller revelation of it in the New Testament

    Genesis 1:26;

also the issue of the angel of Jehovah as distinct and yet synonymous

    Genesis 16:7-13; 18:1=21; 19:1-28; Malachi 3:1

    Isaiah 48:16; 61;9-10

The Trinity in the New Testament:

The Father is God; John 6:27; 1 Peter 1:2

The Son is God; John 1;1,18; Titus 2:13

The Holy Spirit is God; Acts 5:3-4

It may be described thus, One in Essence yet three distinct Persons

Trinity is the central doctrine of Trinitarians just like the doctrine of some egyptians who worships various gods - Isis, Horus and Osiris.

We should know the main theme of Jesus' preaching which most people do not know.. Luke 4:43 reads..

(Luke 4:43) But he said to them: “Also to other cities I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth.”

(Luke 8:1) Shortly afterwards he went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,

Jesus spent not one minute; let alone five minutes,

of his Ministry, to teach this lie.

I'd say "the central doctrine of Christendom."

That's if you'd like a more truthful statement.

    True Christians reject this teaching for what it truly is;

    a lie and tool of satan the devil;

to mislead mankind away from the true God

    Of course,

the followers of this un-Biblical teaching are not lovers of truth.

    If they were,

they'd not be believing in this God-dishonoring lie.

    As you quoted Deut 6:4.

And yet, they continue on in darkness.

Not knowing that which they worship.

Jehovah is not the Author of confusion.

Jehovah is a God of peace, not disorder ~ 1 Cor 14:33.

Answer this: "Go, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the archangel, and of the electricity."

I'm not trying to offend Scripture, but I'm purposely overlaying the verse in Matthew 28: 19 with Jehovah's Witness (JW) theology. By JW beliefs, God is the Father, Jesus is really Michael the Archangel, and the Holy Spirit is God's active force, nothing more than mere electricity. So why is it that if I apply the JW formula to the scripture in Matthew, it is reduced to utter nonsense? Also, why is it that the Christians of the first century and onward all recognized the Holy Trinity, as evidenced in their writings which still exist today?

Where are the JW first century writings?

    God bless.

seemoreb, the Catholic Bible is not accurate. The same Bible that eliminated one of the ten commandments and divided one so they'd still appear as 10. Come on.

In answering, Genesis 1:26 states clearly God co-created. So our Creator is not one. There was never any reason to dwell on God's plural nature/essence because keeping focused on one entity was a great accomplishment in a world full of neighbors who made-up and pushed onto them polytheistic religions. The incarnation (Jesus) required God to shed more light on this aspect of his being. This is not rocket science to understand.

Personally, I’m glad God is a bit complex above human reasoning. And infinitely capable while also remaining holy. Whose dealings with us are always toward our best interests. Email me if you want a further explanation about the Trinity.
