Kodak MX1063 Camera help downloading pictures PLEASE?

Just got one for Christmas but am having some problems downloading pics to computer.I got my Lexar memory card out of my old Kodak(Z760) and put it in my new camera. Web says card can be used in new camera. When I try to download pics to computer it says.... device not found. I take memory card out, take picture and download it with no problem. This camera only holds 4 pictures without a memory card and it says memory card is compatible with new camera> Am I doing something wrong? I mean for pete's sake all you have to do is put the card in the slot and shut the door, I am beginning to think I am an idiot(maybe I am) but can someone please help me????????

Update:

I have noooooo idea on how to format a card(any help would be GREATLY appreciated) I have a dock that I put my camera on and I just push the transfer button, and voila they are on my computer. I also cleared the card off before I put it in the new camera. The pics I want to download were taken today.

you cannot transfer cards with pictures on it

    upload pictures with old camera

then put card in new camera

    the manual tells you

you must format the card in the new camera

    that is your problem

make sure the card is empty

check manual to see how to format

There is a possibility you would need to format the memory card to your camera. For a DSLR you have to do this, and I am not familiar with formatting a memory card on a point and shoot, but maybe you have to. Do you have a program that automatically pops up when you plug your camera in? Add info and let me know, then I can help you better, hopefully. :)

Generally I reformat the memory card every time I pull pictures off of it. I would reformat the card using the camera. I also use a card reader instead of connecting to the camera using a USB cord.

I actual have various kodak cameras and use "Picasa" from google ( unfastened obtain ) , for my photos , have been applying it for previous 5 years and found it fairly elementary to apply , and that i wasn't the main pc literate guy or woman while i began out applying it trust advice of applying a card reader
