Does a tubal pregnancy show negative on an HPT?
I had a "feeling" that my husband and I conceived at the beginning of the month, so I was going to wait until Christmas to take the test. I took the test after being a few days late on my period and it was negative. I am now 6 days late and only one small sign of period (acne) but have a sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. Pain comes and goes but is not a consistent pain. Is it possible that its a tubal pregnancy? And if so would it still show negative on an HPT at this point?
I should also say that the pain has been there for almost a week now. The pain is deep and sharp lasting about 5 minutes give or take.

No,
When i was in my med twenty's after having a healthy son 2 1/2 years prior and being on birth control i had a period but started to have alot of sharp pain in the lower stomach area. After going to the obgyn I was told your pregnant what? Then within one week my hormone count didn't increase but the pain got worse. Don't wait I was lucky i went back in and i had emergency tubal pregancy surgery. Sometimes if un treated your tubes can burst and can be fatal. You know your body just listen. Good luck and take care of yourself.

I had a tubal pregnancy last year and I got a + hpt 4 days after my period was due. It all depends on the level of hcg in your urine. I would call your ob and see if he could check you just in case tho. Good luck!

No, a chemical pregnancy (tubal) will 100% show up postivie on an HPT, unless of course you take the test too early.

No a tubal pregnancy would show up positive.
That's why women don't know its a tubal until they have pain bleeding or have an ultrasound done.
So good luck

As the baby grows in the tube, it can rupture the tube and can kill you. You need to take another test. If the pains persist through today. Call a dr to make sure.
