Your question is very broad. But, I think New York City has a lot to offer. It is the largest city in the United States and one of the most esteemed cities in the world. It offers food from all corners of the globe. It boasts world-class cultural institutions. It is a shopper's paradise. It is lively and exciting.
I don't live in New York. But, I take trips there whenever I can. People always feel that someplace is better than where they live. Granted, New York City is crowded and dense and lacks open green space. But, if you had that, you may be lamenting the fact that you are bored all of the time because you have nothing to do.
I guess you have to figure out how important being able to "see nature" is to you. For some people, it is essential because nature gives them peace and helps them reflect and relax. It depends on your personality, values, and lifestyle.

Why is everyone saying California?
I live in California. I hate it, and I'm moving to New York next year for college.
NEW YORK is the best.
