Where is a good place to go backpacking in Virginia during the summer?
I want to plan a 3-5 backpacking trip in the Appalachians. If you could tell me a specific trail, park, etc...anything would be helpful. I've hiked in the Shenandoah National Park before, but would like to know good places to hike/camp.

K when I lived down there the areas around Harpers Ferry were outstanding. Good luck.

Were it me I'd make a beeline for the national forests on the western side of the Shenandoah Valley. Lots of hiking and camping opportunities there, often in a wilderness setting.
South of I-64 is the Jefferson National Forest. North of the highway you'll find the Washington National Forest.
In both cases, I'd contact the forest supervisors for info on hiking trails, special regs, permit requirements, etc.
