I am interested in hosting my own blog - how do I do this?

I want to avoid typepad, wordpress and blogger. Is this possible? If so how do I do it?

Update:

I have my own domain name, I have my own website, and I currently have my site hosted.

I use adobe contribute 4 to update my website.

Do your suggestions involve me paying wordpress?

Yes it's possible you can host your own site. Here is a page with links to free web hosting services. http://www.thefreesite.com/Free_Web_Space/

you can also pay to get your site hosted and you usually get better features and support

Well, if you have your own domain you can download the code for wordpress and use it through your own website. Also if you sign up for hosting through companies like GoDaddy they have a couple different options for blogs that are setup automatically by their hosting software.

    Hope this information is helpful.

hi L.F.M., you could set up a unfastened weblog, and then in case you prefer to in a while, swap it over to paid web hosting. That way you could positioned advertisements on it, and replace it to the variety you decide on (extra thoughts). attempt here: wordpress blogger weblog livejournal bravenet weebly opera stable luck!
