Need Help With Guitar Hero World Tour!! Any help!?

I bought my son Guitar Hero World Tour for PS2 for Christmas. We have tried several times to get it to play, but it keeps coming up and saying "Disc Read Error." Every one of his other games play in the PS2, but not the Guitar Hero World Tour. Any suggestions?

Update:

We have taken one disc back already and this is the second one!! I am POSITIVE that it is a PS2 disc! I have already checked for the obvious things. HELP!!

I am having the same problem with Guitar Hero World Tour. I am guessing they are making the copies on cheap disk or burning them at to fast a speed. I just got another copy and it doesn't work with my old thick PS2 either.

First, make sure it's a ps2 disc and not a ps3 disc. If your sure that it's a ps2 disc, then you need to return the game. I'm hoping you kept your receipt. Sometimes, the games just don't get burned right.

    EDIT

If you have an old ps2, that could be your problem. The old thick ones are pretty old now and aren't doing so well. Anyone who had a ps1 knows what I'm talking about too. After a few years the part that reads the disc can get dirty and not want to read certain discs (especially scratched ones or brand spankin new ones).

I'm pretty sure your warranty must be up if you've got the old one so try this out: http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps...

Follow that guide and it will tell you how to fix it. I used it several times and kept my old ps2 working for three years. I gave in about eight months ago though and bought the new slim one.

If you've got the new one (the thin small one), try opening it and cleaning the lens using a Q tip and some rubbing alcohol. Don't press hard on the lens or pour anything directly on to it, and NEVER touch it.

    Good luck. :)

Are you sure it's not a PS3 disc and if it's not then just return it and say that it doesn't work and they should take it back unless if it has scratched on the back but they know this kind of stuff happens all the time.

i like Rock Band, i've got not performed Drums on Guitar Hero worldwide excursion yet, yet I heard the Drums have been extra advantageous than Rock bands. yet I definitely like the guitar on Rock Band extra advantageous. stable question

i would suggest that you take it back and get a new one because if all of his other games work obviously the game is broke.
