Do you think Hamas should resort to Peaceful Means?
Noting the severity of the casualties, Should Hamas resort to more peaceful means and negotiations instead of throwing RPG into Israel only to be retaliated back by a few missiles and air raids in the best interests of Palestinians or is it they just don't care for precious innocent lives of their own.
Do you think the International community will back up Palestinians if they resort to more peaceful measures such as those practiced by our very own Gandhi?
Please don't offend. Lives are lives and it don't matter who it is. They are precious.
Edit: Simon that line was used by Gandhi. Quite a memory. Thumbs up for you.

I live in Arab country myself and I gave a comment to a local English daily newspaper stating similar thoughts especially of the peaceful to solving problems such as Gandhi's ideologies, although personally I may not be a big fan of Gandhi myself. But his perseverance finally gave an Independence to India. By the many comments that I have seen that Hamas not caring for their own trying to fulfill their hidden agenda and that surely jeopardizes any furthering of the peace process. I also believe that it has to be mutual. Israel has suffered at Nazi hands at the time of Hitler and then they were powerless but considering the power they have now, I don't think they would want to be victims and allow History to repeat and I doubt if Hamas can actually match them in power. So it would be in the best interests that Palestinian people dismantle Hamas if truly what they are seeking is peace. Hamas have been many a chances to obtain peace only to blow it and try winning sympathy. That is very poor politics. It is still not too late to follow Gandhi's ideologies. Non-violence is the way to peace.

Yes, with all of my heart I wish Hamas would resort to more peaceful means and negotiations to help settle the terrible problems between them and Israel. I believe the International community would love to back the Palestinian people. Sadly, it's hard to do when terrorists are elected as their leader. The most tragic part of this ongoing dispute is the fact so many innocent people are injured or killed. On both sides. I especially mourn for the poor little children who know nothing but war and hatred.

If Hamas gave up and made a true effort for peace, Israel would follow.
I think that Palestinians should protest against Hamas, not Israel. Israel would never attack without being provoked. History has shown this.
People forget that there are plenty of Palestinians and Jews who get along just fine. If only everyone could follow their example.

Certainly they should resort to nonviolent means, but they will never do it. They do not actually care about their own people. They want war, and they fire rockets at Israel in order to start a war. In the process, they can use the Palestinian casualties for propaganda value to make themselves feel like they are the victims and therefore provide justification for more violence on their part. Hamas lives in the 7th century and wants nothing less than to conquer the world for the sake of their ego (aka god).

All are terrorist organizations who have no value for human life, hate democracy because it scares them to death ( yikes, people will be allowed to think for themselves ) and seek the complete destruction of Israel and Jews in much the same manner as Hitler. Another 20 Iraqi Muslims were found tortured and murdered by an Islamic death squad in Baghdad today, so they don't just kill Christians and Jews. Hatred and the death of innocent people is wrong and ANY group who practices these methods ARE terrorists, regardless of nationality or beliefs. Peace!

I would hope to agree to you, but that's like asking if the Ku Klux Klan should be more tolerant of blacks. That's not what Hamas was formed for, peace! It'll never happen in a million years. They can swallow a missle for all I care. Sorry, had to squeeze off some stress today.

I would love it if they would resort to peaceful means (I'm sure everyone would), but it's not their style. Peaceful means essentially means the end of their dream of annihilating Israel, and the end of their method of operating. They don't mind harsh reprisals from Israel, because they know that bringing death and destruction on their own people will ultimately galvanize the Palestinian public and bring them long term gains. They've had countless opportunities to go the peaceful route over the last few decades, and they've never even tried it. If they decided to employ non-violent resistance (a la Ghandi), they would have had a state decades ago. But again, if they had a state, what would they use to convince their people to continue to struggle and die against a militarily superior force?

It won't last! Palestine and Israel have had countless chances to throw away the spears and shake hands but as long as there are psychopaths loose on either side, who WANT the killing to continue, it will never be resolved. Peace is no desired; only revenge and retaliation.

Hamas should line up in front of Israels best sharp shooters and allow themselves to be thoroughly and effectively shot.

six month ceasefire didn't help them at all. they are treated like prisoners in there own country. Israel uses excessive force. Palestinians cant win this one. not without the help of its neighbors. which is the best Israel deserves..
