What are some fun things to do in NYC?
My mom and I are going to NYC tomorrow, and staying there overnight at my cousin's place. My mom and I are going to spend the day out on the town, are there any extra extra fun places you suggest we go? I already thought of Rockefeller Center for skating, anywhere better we can go? And what about food? We will eat anything and "bonus points" if you include all these things :
Restaurants
Fun things to do
and easy access.
Remember the fun has to last a day!
Thanks!

Some good places to eat would be in Little Italy (just walk straight down Mullbery street and you will see all sorts of italian cafes and eateries to your left and right.) Or there is also Chinatown. (The East Village is a interesting, funky sort of neighborhood and you will find many ethnic and unique places to eat there Try it!)
Central park is huge and fun to explore.
Go to the top of the Empire State Building or Rockefeller Center
Walk on the Brooklyn Bridge
Pass by the Statue of Liberty on the Staten Island Ferry (free)
Go on one of the boat cruises that circumnavigates Manhattan island (you will see dozens of landmarks along the way)
Go inside St. Patrick's Cathedral (largest gothic cathedral in the US)
Check out interior of Grand Central Station
Gallyvant around Times Square
See a show on Broadway
Shop and walk around in SOHO, Chinatown, Greenwich Village
Go to Wall st. in the financial district and see the New York Stock Exchange
Visit one of the countless museums in the city (I highly recommend you choose Metrpolitan Museum of Art. It is i believe the largest and most well known in the city and has the largest collection of every type of art from every period of history, modern and ancient)
By the way, if you want to do as much as possible in one day, and don't want to have to wait in lines or pay admission fees for certain places, then I HIGHLY recommend you check this out: www.newyorkpass.com
Since you are going to be there for 1 day, you would want to get the 1 day pass which is 69.00 per person. Go to the site and it wil explain to you all the differnt attractions that you get access to for free and without having to wait in the lines. all you pay is the price of the pass. YOU WILL THANK ME. CHECK IT OUT. IT SAVES YOU SO MUCH MONEY!
Anyway I hoped I helped. email me if you have any other questions

Lombardi's Pizzeria in SoHo is great, and for good New York style pizza you can go to John's Pizzeria (there are three locations in Manhattan). Two great delis are Katz's Delicatessen (which was the deli in the movie When Harry Met Sally) and Carnegie Deli. Some fun things to do in NYC are visiting Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and riding on the Staten Island Ferry. Times Square is very impressive after sunset because of the lights, and you can see Broadway shows. You should also visit Grand Central Station.
