What Do people mean by ">.<"?

I always see people put >.< with the arrows and all. They put the two little arrows with a period. Explanation?

    >.< is a text emoticon used to represent either frustration or shyness. The arrows are the eyes and the period is the nose, so you can see it looks somewhat like a furrowed brow.

For example: "oh my god, I can't believe I did that! >.<"

or, " >.< Too much information!"

Imagine Homer Simpson when he says 'Doh!', it's an emoticon used to represent that exact feeling.

Also, the emoticon can sometimes be represented with a semi colon, such as: >.<'. This is representative of the classic 'bead of sweat' expression that is popular with a lot of anime and is most often used to indicate shyness, as opposed to frustration.

It's the arrows are the eyes closed and the period is the mouth when it's like squished. LIke the face people get when they see someone get hurt "oooo.. that's gotta hut"

I think it's a smiley face. Either a shy one (like putting your hands over your eyes) or when you're embarrassed.

    Isn't that like a kiss?

It kind of looks like a kiss face with the lips puckered and the eyes squinting:

    >.<

Source(s): (I guess shy makes sense too)

It's a shy face or when you think something is awkward
