Technically neither, but Jews did take control of the area first from it's original inhabitants.

I think the Canaanites have the oldest claim though.

After the death of the 1st Israeli king the land was divided into a norther an southern kingdom (Judea and Israel)

Then the Babylonians conquered the land.

The Persians took the land from the Babylonians

The Greeks/Macedonians (Via Alexander the Great) took it next.

Greek Tolomyiac Egypt controlled the land after Aleanders death.

The Romans conquered it from them.

Then it became part of the Byzantine Empire after the split/fall of the Roman Empire.

Various tribes then conquered the land.

Crusaders from Europe came to take control for awhile

Muslim armies took control from the crusaders

The Ottoman Empire took control of the land.

After WWI and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire Various European countries gained control of the land dividing it up amongst themselves with Britain controlling the area that encompasses the land that would become Israel/Palestine/Jordan

By League of Nations mandate (via various groups politicking) it was decided to create independent states in the former lands of the Ottoman Empire (which is where/how we get most of the modern middle eastern states).

Trans Jordan (the area of land controlled by Britain that) spaned both sides of the Jordan River was further devided into Jordan to the east of the river and Palastine to the wes ofd the river.

Since Muslim/Jews/Christians all lived in the western area how to devide the land and who to rule was much more difficult.

Palestine was eventually divided by which group controlled (lived) in each area and a map was drawn up to create both a Jewish and Muslim state.

After WWII both Muslims and Jews wanted independence from British rule/control of the area.

Muslim leaders in the Muslim part of the land called on Muslim/Arab states to help them to defeat the Jews to take control of the whole area.

Muslim forces were defeated by Jewish forces in this war and the modern state of Israel was born.

Many of the black churches started when there was segregation in the country. The blacks were not allowed to attend white churches. Today many have matured to know that God's house is for people of all races and nationalities and tongues. The true church stands before God in the book of Revelations 7:9-10 9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Lots of people came from Palestine

I don't know, my great great great grand parents could have been jews for all I know. Because lots of syrians came from Palestine and Jesus was from Palestine, Palestine is a very old country if Israel wants its country back then lots of people would want to come back. And selusalam is right the real Palestine's are the the real Israeli the rest are the people who converted to being Jews coming from europe

I don't think that a particular ethnic group or religion owned Israel. But going back over sixty years ago, it was occupied by both Jews and Palestinians. The land then was called Palestine. In May of 1948 Jews who had previously fled Europe declared independence. The conflict worsened from there. Now, decades later, you see the bad fruit of something sown in haste.

Peggy1 has it right-the pagan Moabites were there and wiped out by the Jews. Jews and Muslims lived in the same area for many many years in peace until the state of Israel was founded after WW2. Prior to that the Kingdom of Israwl was destroyed by the Romans and the area was part of the Western then Eastern Roman Empires until it was conquered by the Muslims, retaken by the Christians, then retaken by the Muslims and became part of the Ottaman Empire. The Kingdom of Israel was destroyed by the Romans during the first century BC and the modern state of Israel was founded in 1947 but in the intervening 1500 years it was setlled by many different tribes, peoples and religions. From 1919 until 1947 the Palestinians who had been then for generations and the native Jews who had been there for generations actually lived very peacefully together until the European Jews "returned home" and decided to make it a new secular country and used car bombs and terrorism to drive out the British and then drove out the majority of the Palestinians.

Neither, if you read your Old Testament I believe it was either Joshua or King David that ran of the pagans that lived there. Jews have held it the longest if that counts for anything.

The land was given by God to his people, the Jews, centuries before Mohamed was ever born and I have never came across anything that says He has taken it away.

Well, the jewish were there 6000 years ago and the muslims didn't come around till about 2000 years ago. All the people of God were in the region long before allah or Jesus was even born. You can figure it out now can't you.
