Setting Lotions? How Do You Use Them?

I was going to buy a setting lotion and I was wondering how exactly you use them. And do you have to use them with curlers and a dryer?

There are different types of setting lotions. In fact, they run the gamut from sprays, to creams , to gels, etc. You don't have to use curlers, but it's often used for roller sets. You can also use it to mold your hair and then wrap it and sit under the dryer. Setting lotion should be applied to freshly shampooed and conditioned hair. The amount you use should vary depending on the hairstyle. Using too much could make your hair stiff, flaky or both.

Depending on the length of your hair, it can take from 20 minutes to 2 hours for a full head of rollered hair to dry. I'd recommend Fast Dry Sculpting Spray by Paul Mitchell to set your hair, keep it damp, roller your hair and spray over the whole lot, it can then be used after to keep it curly.
