No CD Burner=HUGE PROBLEM!?

I got a really nice used Dell desktop computer for Christmas because my old one crashed.

This one is really nice; however, it doesn't have a CD burner and that is a big problem because I'm always making CDs....

Is there any way to download a CD burner?

If so, please help!

It would be very much appreciated!

Thank you =)

Sorry but you can't exactly "download" hardware.

If the computer does not physically have a cd burner, than you wont be able to do it. You will need to buy the hardware and install it in your computer, or otherwise take the CD drive from your old computer and put it into the new one.

If the computer does have a CD burner, than you will be able to download software such as NERO, or otherwise use itunes inbuilt CD burner / windows media player for music. Alternatively windows has an inbuilt cd burning function/

A DVD burner is HARDWARE.. you cannot download hardware. Does your new PC have a DVD burner? If it does, it will also make CDs. Otherwise, you'll have to buy and install a CD or DVD burner. Not a hard task, but you will want to look at Dell's support pages on how to install a new drive. Or get a knowledgeable friend to do it for you..

Well, as long as there is a material cd burner (the place where you actually put the disc) you can download anything and use with it. Here's a list of some of them, some are free, others have a trial.

If I understood your question well however you don't have a material one and those softwares are going to be useless.

you cannot download a softward taht will make your dvd-cd reader into a dvd cd writer. You have to buy the optical drive seperatly. You can generally get a good drive at your local computer retalier for 25 bucks. But just make sure it is +- RW with both CD and DVD.

    hope this helped. =)
