What the hell is a mini pitbull?
Okay, so I was looking through Craigslist today and I came across someone who has a mini pitbull. Anyone know anything about the "breed?" I quote it because I'm not even sure it's a real breed.. I'm just curious, I've never heard of it before.
Thanks in advance!
Lol, funny you should mention mini Aussies, cause I asked a question about them a while back. The reason I asked that question was because mine looks like he's a mini Aussie (Corgi/Australian Shepherd)
Also, I wouldn't purchase a dog off Craigslist, all of mine are rescues. I was just curious and decided to look through their ads.

It's "all about the money", very sad to say. This is just another fancy dancy mutt.
Thanks for the post. :oP

You should be careful leaving a child with any breed of dog. Some dogs can get jealous when their owners suddenly pay more attention to a baby then themselves and can get aggressive that way Recently in the paper there was a 17yr old mom who left her 3 week old baby girl in a room with 2 huskys, and when she came back, her daughter was dead and she got charged with manslaughter (now recently dropped of all charges) I would suggest, when you have your baby(ies), do not leave them in the same room as the dogs. I don't care if they are puppies or adults. Their behavior is just like humans, at times, unpredictable. I hope that helps! And a late congrats on your pregnancy and an early congrats to your new one :)

Well, if the parents are papered, then it is purebred. BUT sometimes people breed other things with the breed to make it smaller. Some Mini Aussies for example have been crossed with shelties and papillons! Hmmm... How does that make a purebred? IT DOESN;T
Basically, anything mini is just small breeding stock bred to small breeding stock. People breeding "mini" dogs are usually in it for the money and don't care about health or temperment, just size.
Do not get anything "mini". :)

It's probably just the baby of two small pitbulls, which have been sold to her as "minis" so she thinks she has a mini on her hands!

No such thing, though just like people are trying to breed pitbulls really big, I have ALSO seen people breeding pitbulls very small.
Staffordshire Bull Terriers are small, smaller than APBTs (American Pit Bull Terriers) and resemble them VERY closely.
Perhaps THAT is what the woman is talking about.

With all the monster sized Pits people are breeding I bet this "mini" Pit is actually the standard and true size for an APBT or a Staffie!

Mutt that is it! I have heard of them and honestly that is all they are...some a** went and bred a Pit with a small breed dog and instead of calling it a mutt which is what it is they come up with mini pit
