Help! Where to go on a first date on New Year's Eve?
I'm re-entering the dating world after a 2 year break. Someone asked me out for New Year's Eve today, and I said "yes". We know each other, but not well. We don't want to get trashed, but maybe have a drink or two. Where can 2 people go to have a few drinks, talk, and watch the ball drop if they don't want to drink ALL night? Perhaps somewhere to go after dinner. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

If possible, I'd get into a quiet little restaurant, sit in a darkish corner and talk the night away.
If you venture into a bar or a club then your likely to be more kissed by others than your date. This might lead to a little friction or jealousy from you or your date. This isn't needed on the first date.

I wouldn't go on a first date on new years eve... it's like going out on a first date on your birthday. it's meant to be celebrated with close friends/family.
If I was in your situation I would go to a bar.. either casual or upscale bar.
