Will any big 10 teams win their bowl game this year?
Each year the big 10 gets worse and worse. Is this the year they lose every single bowl game?
PSU win? yep thats the first I've heard that one. My guess is you might have a little bias towards PSU. But hey why not go on a limb and predict the unthinkable?
I think Iowa has a chance. Who knows
But those picking the Gophers over the Hawks are crazy.
MSU over Georgia seems far fetched too but not as bad.
OSU- Texas.. I personally do not see that game being closer than 30 points.
I also want to mention to Blibity that although MU was a "division" winner they were still a distant fifth overall in the big 12 way behind OU UT TTU and OkSU. Northwestern on the other hand was right behind Ohio State in the big 10
fair enough Co I may not be a believer but I'll wait and see and give you best answer if you come across mostly right
Ok blibity you are getting ridiculous. you are using OSU teams from years ago as reasoning they can beat what many think is the best team in the USA?
OSU has not beaten any really good teams. Sure they played USC this year but they got throttled.
UT is just a lot better team this year. This is not the same UT or OSU team that you speak of years ago.
This is not a smaller big 12 team or a team who just had their star qb falsely accused of rape as in one of their bcs big 12 matchups. This is the team that throttled good team after good team.
OSU has no chance in my opinion
funny you mention almost every single game the big 10 has won in recent years. Last year they won 3 bowl games
Previous year 2 I believe.
Not much more the year before that either
sammy p WRONG big 10 was 3- 4 with huge losses by Illinois Wisconsin Ohio State and Indiana. Plus purdue won by 3 against Western Michigan. Thats a loss even though they won if I've seen one
Also I want to add to your little ridiculous rant that little facts actually back up your erroneous arguement. The big 12 teams actually played tough opponents. Oklahoma ripped up Cinci bearcats the Big East champions
Texas destroyed Rice.. who mind you won their bowl game HUGE.
Did any of the Big 10 teams beat anyone? Penn State beat Oregon State. Thats it. but I do need correct myself.
Last year the big 10 went 3-5 not 3-4 I forgot about Michigan state doodoo on the field
btw it is obvious Sammy P is a blibity alt. Why in the world would someone make an account and answer only 1 question a day later?
ok Co...not that i think you can see without a severe big 10 bias but here goes
Ohio State won 2 years ago at Texas. Texas won the year before that in Ohio. The year Ohio won.. Texas ended up not being a very good team comparitavly. In fact they lost to a horrid KSU team.
This year Texas is tons better. Ohio State not so...
so far the big 10 is 0-3 last year they were 3-5 year before that 2-5.
That shows the conference in general is weak.
In fact the only team this year or last that has won ANY non conference quality game is Penn State with a win over Oregon St. ok I will credit Michigan with an upset over 3 loss Florida... but that is hardly the same Florida as this year or others. Other than that? not very good. There is not even a win over a team like Rice!!! yeah I'm saying Rice is tons better than Kent St and VMI.. teams that the big 10 like to play. In fact I believe Rice would beat 7 of the 11 big 10 teams and be competitive with Michigan State.. possibly winning that as
well... also Cinci.. the Big East is imo tougher then the big 10... Their champ could beat any big 10 team not named Penn State

Northwestern falls by winning the coin toss and deferring. Filed under 'What were you thinking?
Ohio State over Texas? Filed under 'Not a chance.'
USC will win over PSU, but it should be close.
Iowa over South Carolina by 14. There you go.

Ohio State beat Northwestern 45 to 10. Saying that Northwestern was right behind Ohio State in the Big Ten standings can be a little misleading. I am not going to claim that Ohio State is going to beat Texas, but I think that we are all going to find out that the offensive minded Big 12 isn't as tough as everyone thinks. Ohio State will give Texas a good game. I am also very confident that they would easily handle MU. The Big Ten was 3 and 3 last year with wins over Florida and another SEC team . The Big Ten isn't as tough as the SEC or USC but neither is the Big 12. Also keep in mind that Ohio State and all the Big Ten teams have had a much longer time between the regular season and the bowl games. In some cases in the 50 day range. That is just way too long in between games. The Big 12 won't be spouting off too much after Florida whips Oklahoma by three or four touchdowns.

Iowa is going to kill South Carolina, but that may be the Big 10's only win. Michigan State and Minnesota both fell apart after solid starts, Ohio State only has a chance if Texas doesn't show up (like Missouri didn't show up last night). I really think Penn State vs USC is going to be a close game, and if the Big 10 gets 2 wins, Penn State will be the other winner.

Northwestern SHOULD OF won that game, they just blew it in OT not looking out for the extra man on the D line
Michigan state will beat Georgia, Javon Ringer is going to run all threw Geo.'s slopy 2ndary
Penn state will beat USC
And i kno ill get critisized on this but i think Ohio state will beat Texas, its going to be back and forth but OSU will pull it off with a 3 or 4 pt win.
yea Iowa has a nice chance to beat SouthCar.
I dont know any of the other bowl games the B 10 is in or id tell you my prediction on the others
--------
Laugh at me all you want youll see once the games come, if im wrong once the games done message me and ill make a question and give u free 10pts lol
and yea Minisota has no chance i think

Wowww Oakloahma played Cinci!! aint that a close game, You guys were 3rd or something and played a 19th ranked Cinci!
Why in the world would that be a tough game?
And wooow RICE, tell me where they were ranked and where there ranked now! and wow they won their bowl game lol, who did they play Toledo? lol-
-----
And the OSU team that beat Texas wasent "years ago" it was in 06 , 2years, thats not a great deal of margin,
8-10 of the same players from the team in 06 are there still for both teams

PSU over USC by 3. You heard it hear first.
edit: Yeah I can admit that I have a PSU bias. But I know PSU has a pretty good defense so I'm sure its not gonna be a blow out. And when Penn State wins on Thursday try not to be too shocked. Tell me this, if for some unforeseen reason they ever moved the Rose Bowl to a cold weather destination, would USC decline the invite, since the pretty boys from Cali don't like playing in the cold?

The big ten lacks coaching. The few experienced coaches in the big ten do just fine in bowl games. Jim Tressel is 3-2 in BCS bowls, not the best, but nothing to sneeze at. Joe Paterno, 9-2 in his last 11 bowl games. Pretty darn good. Ferentz is 4-4 at Iowa. That pretty much sums it up for experience in the big ten as far as coaches go.
After watching the NW Mizzou game, which featured a division winner of the almighty big 12, and an also ran from the big ten, I would say the two teams were pretty much equal, hence the over time. Maclin is a great player, but pretty much everyone in the country knows to punt it out of bounds, except NW coaches.
Right behind after a 30 point loss. They were tied for 4th place in the big ten with the 5th place team.
Why is Michigan State over Georgia such a stretch? Georgia Tech put up how many yards rushing and how many points on them? Michigan State has arguably the best running back in the country. They have fallen off a little at the end up this season, so who knows, but they have the talent. As for Texas OSU, OSU is 28-4 against the big 12, and 2-0 against them in BCS bowl games. Forgive me if I don't count this one in the bag for Texas just yet. The last time they played a big 12 team, it was in Texas, against a solid Texas team, and they smoked them. OSU matches up well against the big 12 just like they match up poorly against the SEC.
To answer your question, the big ten will win 3 bowl games, at minimum. There is no chance they go winless. I just don't understand why everyone thinks the big ten is so terrible. Over the last 3 seasons, dead even against the SEC head to head in bowl games, the same can be said for over the last 5. OSU is 4-2 in BCS bowls, Penn State is 9-2 in their last 11. A terrible michigan team ran up and down on Florida last season in their bowl game.

you got a point, the big ten will probably not win a bowl game this year, but if they do, it'll be penn state over usc cause the pac 10 sucks just as much (if not more). that game should be close at least.

LMAO at the comment of MSU beating UGA. You are out of your mind. I agree with the Kansas loss- they have not been very impressive this season.
That is the Big 10's only chance

Someone is a little Big 10 biased. The Trojans will handle Joe Pa and his Lions like in years past.
- Anonymous1 decade ago
If they can't win with Chase Daniel actually trying to lose, they might not win at all! I think there had to be some point shaving going on in that game.
Source(s): Joe- I'll eat a dog turd if Minnesota beats Kansas! That may be the biggest mis-match of all the bowls! Blibityblabity- Mizzou is only the 6th best team in the Big-12, not an also ran!
