Is it said mede-HAN-it?
When we call her by her name she says "no".
I know its close to the word meaning "anger". men-nah-didt

Hi Freckles,
you can pronounce it two ways .
- Med = as in MEDdallion
-HA = as in HArd
-NIT= somewhat like in 'NEAt' but short and crisp on the 'ea' sound.
Or if it's informal and you are close to that person you can call her the shorter way ... drop the 'h.' So you call her MEDANIT. The 'h' becomes silent.
Medhanit means 'cure' or 'saviour'.
