Help with BlackBerry Pearl 8130?
So my boyfriend inherited this phone from his older brother, and I'll admit that it's not anywhere close to being new. But recently, it won't let him receive texts! It's temper-mental; some days it'll let him get texts, and most days it won't. And it's not just coming from my phone, as no one can text him! Also, it'll delete them as soon as he gets them in; any call logged will be deleted too. Any help here?

People have already told you that the memory is low, but I have this phone and it did the exact same thing. The way to fix it is to call your service provider and ask them to help you delete useless applications that you may not use such as Navigation, Voice Dialing, Cellebrite PhoneBook Client that you may not use. That will give you more room to store information because if you just buy a memory card, the blackberry only allows you to store music, memos, and pictures on it. Not texts and calls.

LOL i just saw someone else with a similar question about the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 just under your question.
Anyways, this issue is happening because the device memory is low. When the device's memory is low, the BlackBerry's Low Memory Manager kicks in and starts removing call logs and/or messages to clear space.

I had this phone and the same thing happened. They have a memory leak because its almost like a computer, it gets full and get store any more info. Tell him to buy a memory card and brand you can get them at the cell phone store for about 10 bucks. This should fix it.

Is he on AT&T?
I know that network has been having problems.
If not, try taking it to the store, or see if his brother bought insurance on the phone.
They normally replace it or fix it for free if there is insurance on it.
If there is no insurance, look at phones on eBay or something.
