With only $10,000 should I buy a newer Ford/GM/Chevy or an older Toyota/Honda?

Are the newer 07-08 American cars better than a 1999 Honda/Toyota? Don't all cars start to show problems around ten years old? How low quality are the newest American cars?

Toyota is WAY over rated. To see what I mean, open your favorite Internet search page and search "Toyota Sludge" or "Toyota Rust", without the quotes.

Honda isn't much better. Search "Honda Odometer" without the quotes.

I would get an American car instead. They are much better than you think.

    Yes and no.

They(New American) are better in terms of quality and features and value.

They are not better in terms of reliability, but they will still reach 200,000 miles with regular maintenance.

An Older Honda or Toyota could reach over 300,000 mies is they were taken care of. But they do not have the features and safety and comfort of newer cars.

If you plan to keep the car for more than 10 years, do not buy an American car. They could last 10 years, or even more. But they will have more problems along the way so they will cost more over time.

newer American cars will hold up better than old Japanese, plus you wont have to worry about pollution restrictions (depending on state) with a newer car for longer. buy US, the quality has come lightyears since the 80's early 90's.

If you are in America I would buy an American car.

With everyone buying foreign cars we are trashing our economy even more than it already is. Domestic cars are very reliable now a days.

i would rather buy a brand new car

that a car with 100k on it, even if they still last longer

if you take care of a brand new car, itll last long

rather then buying a that you have no idea how it was taking care of

Buy American. They do last longer than people think they do.
