How do I become a vegetarian and stay as one?

For the new year coming up I want to become a vegetarian. I am only 14 years old a for some reason I am getting so tired of eating meat. It just doesn't taste right to me. I do not see meat as food anymore. I see it as an animal. i know that I might get made fun of this( no offense but where I live you are considered really weird for being a vegetarian) but it is worth it. I have tried my whole life to go and stay vegetarian but it never really worked out for me. But now I am going to stick to my word. I have always loved animals. Now I will prove it. Any tips would be great. I am very grateful for your time. This well be great for me! Thank You!

Well like you I am also 14 and I became a vegetarian last january. Basically for me, I stopped eating different meats until I actaully went all the way. I personally think that is the best way. To start off with some meats and then when you are ready stop eating all meats.

You may be in for a difficult journey if your family doesn't support you. But if you stay quiet about it and simply push the meat to the side of your plate and fill up on potatos, pasta, rice, vegetables, you'll soon reap the benefits. You will find yourself with more energy, no more lethargic feelings of eating too much, etc. Being vegan is much harder - no cheese, eggs, milk, makes it hard to sit down to a meal if you limit yourself that much. You could try omelets, lasagna, calzones, cheese enchilladas, there's so much food out there that doesn't contain the boring old "beef, chicken, or pork?" choices most people base their dinner on. Holidays are going to be challenging, however, so plan well ahead for them. Most of the good ones (Thanksgiving, Christmas) fall at the end of the year, so you have 11 months to prepare.

Cool. Just stick with a plan that works for you. Finds foods that you really like and also try new things as well to not get bored with repeating a dish.

Please remember that there are plenty of food to eat and plenty of sources for nutrition in all the remaining food groups. If you really do this right, you will feel so much better I promise. =)

It's all about willpower. I started off eating only fish for the first month (pescetarian). But I found as time wore on I was repulsed to all meats. Now I eat purely vegetarian and I love it.

    Hope that helped x

You need to first figure out why you haven't stuck to it. I can't tell you what was wrong in the past, but once you figure out why it was hard for you, you can plan for that and stay on track.
