share files - can it hurt my comp?

my niece loves to share files with myself and her friends but I have notice that I started having problems after that

Now lately, when I go to shut down, I get a message asking me if I am sure as there is anywheres from 2 to 8 people logged on

Since I am the only one using my computer, I can't figure out how someone else could be on

Could this have to do with the shared files, also, her computer is so messed now that nothing short of a miracle will help

    yes, giving access to people you dont know to your computer can be very dangerous. They can upload viruses, delete needed files, steal personal and financial information and use your computer for illegal purposes,
