Is there a way to get high speed internet?

I live like out in the boon docks and pretty much ll my family can get is either satellite (which we have, hughes net), or dial-up. Is there a way to convince somebody like comcast or verizon, opr any other high-speed internet providers, to provide high-speed internet? Or will they make it a soon for most people like me? In case this helps, I live about 10 minutes outside of Snow Hill, Maryland.

You might be able to get local internet from your telecommunication provider, but otehr than that you might be stuck. Most DSL services and Cable services do not get far out of the town, and most providers have absolutely no plan to fix this. Most telephone providers are not doing well financially versus cell phones, so many are not going to lay more fiber/equipment than they have to for dsl.... and yet raising taxes on telecommunication is going to make things better.... go figure.

Folks like yourself can get high speed with satellite connection.

You will have to ask around, possibly your nearest TV station engineer or even your local police. Many police services cannot get the service they want with ordinary dial up.

An eve better source would be to ask you telephone service since they are also involved with DSL, almost as fast as High Speed.

    Hope this helps.
