Do you find this question "obscene"?
Jesus said to eat his body. Catholics believe they literally do so. Some protestants believe they do but only figuratively. A Catholic told me they eat "the whole body". Is it obscene to ask, "What part of him do I eat?"
Do I eat his ear? His arm? His spleen? What?
It is official. My response to a question of a previous asker has "violated community guidelines". All I asked, in response to a question regarding Jesus being the tree of life, was "what part of him do I have to eat?" YA has reviewed my appeal and found me in violation of their rules of conduct.
I had little if any respect for YA already. I think I'm in the negative amount now.
Sigh.
Does anyone here know where I can find an intelligent forum for intelligent debate in which the powers that be would not deem such a simple, silly question "obscene" or in "violation" of any rules of conduct?
Thanks in advance.

His flesh sweetheart it is the bread of life and it is his flesh that he sacrificed for your salvation.

(No, your ? is NOT obscene, although certain sick minded pervs make like to take it as such. To hell with them...)
It would be like eating ground beef, or better yet a HOT DOG--they pack it with all the reject meat leftover. If you knew what's in a hot dog you'd probably never touch one again.
If Catholics are literally eating the body of Christ they have been doing so for almost 2000 years now, so all that bread--it would mean Christ's would no doubt have been eaten over and over and over again! Are you eating the same body parts a previous Pope has eaten?
Confusion, confusion, confusion!! That is why I believe the communion table is like a parable. Christ died once for sin, and to say He died twice is blasphemy!
Christ DID say, "Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blod, ye have no life in you..." He further emphasized, "It is the SPIRIT that giveth life THE FLESH PROFITETH N O T H I N G!!!
He was speaking a parable, for His body, when He rose from the dead, became a spiritual-transfigured body. He told his disciples, "Handle me and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones AS YE SEE ME HAVE!
In 1 Corinthians 15:35-38 he Paul explains, "But some man will say, how are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, excpet it die. And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: but God giveth it a body as it hath pleased Him and to every seed his own body."
Concerning the tree of Life, it represents being "born again". To eat of the tree of life is to have God's Holy Spirit fused into your spirit--But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." When that happens you've got a part of you that is one with God--No, you're NOT God, you've just got His very nature and essence a part of yours. It's called that eternal life. Already yours, not everlasting life--when you become immortal

I think when Jesus said to eat his body he was being metaphorical. I think he meant to take in his essence, to experience the spiritual truths he preaches. Your attitude is very mocking. You act like you don't get that there is a supernatural realm of existence and that that is what people are referencing when they talk about religion. But I'm sure you do get it because all humans have some glimmer of what that is about. So since you do get it, if you aren't interested in the subject why don't you just leave it alone, instead of mocking people's beliefs?

Yes, I got a violation for asking an anti-catholic question, too. Yahoo denied my appeal. I guess I can just go crazy reporting all the filth I ignore every day on here.
I am a protestant and we do not believe at all what catholics believe about the Lord's Supper. We eat bread and drink wine/juice symbolically in remembrance of what He did for us. We do not believe it is his actual flesh and blood like the Roman Catholic church does.

Ever for the reason that i grew to become into little and til this day i've got consistently called my mum "Mummy" and my dad "Daddy". purely because of the fact they in no way spoke back to "mum"/"dad". and that's often caught, i assume. comparable with my siblings, too. I swear each and each time my mom calls me at artwork, and that i answer asserting "hi, mummy", i'm getting the main strangest looks from my artwork colleagues. They consistently discover that hilarious and oftentimes take the mic. and that i will actually see why that's humorous lol yet, that's in no way replaced, and that i doubt it is going to. mom and pa will consistently be Mummy and Daddy. And in particular because of the fact they won't respond to something from their little ones! : )

The answer is not obscene, but perfectly valid. It arises from a common misconception. Catholics do not believe they are eating actual body parts. Rather, they believe that the eucharist's essence is transformed into the essence of Christ, not a body part like His heart. By consuming the eucharist, they achieve communion (hence, the name) with the essence of Christ.

Considering some of the things that get asked/posted here, that's kind of a tame question. But what do you expect when they censor part of your college grad honorific?
I hate to say it, but I doubt you'll find an intelligent forum on the internet (or at least one that won't devolve quickly). If you do, let me know...

your question isn't obscene YA's response is obscene. Blog your opinions and have no censorship. Any forum will be moderated to some extent.
Maybe start your own?

No, of course it's not obscene.
Your description of Christians' ritual cannibalism, makes me recall the film "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover".

i don't view it as being obscene.
But you're too mature a woman *not* to be aware of the sexual implications of what you asked.
A magna *** laude college grad -- wherein *** is substituted for the middle word there (which means "with" in Latin, if i'm remembering accurately from having 2 years of Latin in 1956 -1958 as a freshman & sophomore in high school). You're aware enough of what that *** word means in contemporary slang to realize it could be considered "obscene" by the *really* ignorant -- tho obviously the context does *not* have that connotation.
You *know* you were "playing games" with "What part of him do I eat? Do I eat his ear? His arm? His spleen? What?" You know what's being implied there, progressively *after* that "What?" as well as most of the rest of us.
To my understanding, Roman Catholics, especially, would consider that to be an "obscene" innuendo.
Let me suggest that that kind of Question would not be conducive to actual "intelligent debate" in *any* forum.
Silly questions tend to beget silly answers.
Intelligent debate takes place at these 3 lists:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/goddesschristians/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/magdalene-list/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Sacredfeminineideals...
But you've got to be posting within the parameters of what the List Description defines the list as being about. You can't be there to be arguing with the list purposes -- or just to be silly. Atheistic posts would be inappropriate. Christian fundamentalists get kicked out -- for they're participating only to subvert the list purposes, & sidetrack everyone into *their* evangelical trip. If you're joining just to argue for arguing's sake... don't bother.
Anything goes at this list:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GoddessUncensored/
Only spammers are booted out.
But you probably won't get anybody *responding* -- unless it's me.
i can be a bit mischievous, myself, at times. i posted the Question: "Did God the Father commit adultery with the Virgin Mary?"
i *told* the truth about how i'd come-by that Question. An African *Bishop* (of the Orthodox Church... i assumed Greek Orthodox rather than Russian Orthodox) posted the question, a few years ago, to the Church of the Dual Faith list. The poster was *obviously* what he claimed to be (from the nature of some of his writings & the kind of stuff he was reading) -- & he'd been genuinely *bothered* by the theological implications that God really *could* have been guilty of "adultery" (since the Virgin Mary wasn't married, but *was* betrothed).
Of course i was lmao!
One person's response (7 people answered before somebody complained & Yahoo deleted my Question) -- he was *sure* i was a liar, that i'd made the whole thing up. Well, he was WRONG! i may have misremembered a few of the details in my summary (i didn't go back into the archives to review that Bishop's posts), but it really *happened*. i suspect that he posted it in a place like *Dual Faith* because it wouldn't get him in trouble relative to his position!
i *knew* i was "pushing the line" just like *you* knew you were "pushing the line" -- & being a bit mischievous, when i posted that Question, here -- especially shortly before Christmas!
i was just curious as to how others would respond.
i don't think this is an issue to be criticizing Yahoo! Answers about.
15 year old girls who are frequently living pretty sheltered & naive lives -- that have been spent going to church -- are members of YA too. You're *very* aware of what's "over the line" for "fundamentalist Christians."
For a period i appreciated Robert Ingersoll's writings... for a few years i subscribed to & bought several back issues of the secular humanist magazine, Free Inquiry.
i'm not an atheist. i'm a panentheistic Sophianic with a close relationship with Yeshua as my spiritual Brother. i see the value of atheism -- & respect their contributions; but to my view they're as "blind" (in a different way) as the Christian Fundamentalists. 20 years ago i may have enjoyed debating atheists, but i've got too few years left, this go-around, to really be wasting time that-a-ways, anymore.
If you ever have some genuine Divine experiences, & aren't in denial of them, then you'll *know*. & if you don't -- you won't! That's okay too! i *certainly* don't believe in that Old Testament "God" or any "eternal hell". ;).
My basic focus is the Divine Feminine, now.

I am afraid I will have to disagree with your question. Jesus said that in the bible and believers eat bread which is blessed by God and the bread symbolizes the body of Jesus. That doesn't say anything on what part . Can't believe you ask this question... you should be ashamed.
How do I know?
I am Orthodox Christian.
