Why is my iPod mini dead?
I've had my iPod mini 4GB for almost 3 1/2 years and I've never had a problem until today. I tried turning it on and it didn't respond. It always sits in my car hooked up to a charger so it wasn't dead and it wouldn't turn on when I hooked it up to my laptop or a power outlet. Any ideas?

The iPod was put in a charger the whole time. The battery never got the chance to be used. You're supposed to keep using the battery.
That's why my iPod Photo is still working. I had that thing since October of 2005 and it doesn't look like it's going to die anytime soon. I also have my iPod Video and it's still working.

Maybe the battery finally died out because it's always being charged.
Did you not know that overcharging drains the battery life in the long run?
