What is the best area for single bachelors to live in Dallas, TX?

Hello,

I was born and raised in Kansas. My twin brother and I just recently graduated college and we both want to move to a big city and we thought what better time than now, since there is nothing holding us back. We both like to go out and we're wondering what area of Dallas would be a good area to move to? We were wanting an area close to a thriving night life, at the same time, it being safe where we can walk home if need be. We care more about a safe neighborhood rather than how "nice" the place is. As far as rent is concern, we were wanting to spend anywhere from $800 to $1200 for a 2 bedroom place.

Thank you.

I second the suggestion of the Village Apartments off of Greenville Ave. I also agree that nobody walks in Dallas unless it's for exercise or to walk a dog.

The Village is actually several different apartment buildings all part of a larger complex. There is a large park in the middle and a very active intramural sports league for the residents. It's a great way to meet other people.

By the way, 'safe' and 'nice' are synonymous in any city.

If you are a Jayhawk there is a large alumini group in Dallas. I only know that because my dad went to KU many years ago.

If you are looking for a single's neighborhood then uptown is good, or the Village apts. off of Greenville near Northwest Hwy.

There are lots of clubs close by.

I am not sure about walking home, as to whether you mean from work or a club, but few people walk around Dallas, and public transport sucks.

Somewhere close to Dallas would be good. Flower Mound is about a 30 minute drive from Dallas and is nice upper middle class neighborhood.
