Can someone with a criminal record join the service?

My husband has been in and out of jail or YA(youth authority) since he was about 13 hes now 25. He wanted to join the army about 7 years ago this was the first year we were together but I was being selfish and begged him not to go, Im now regreting not letting him go but he recently tells me when he gets out he does want to sign up but doesnt know if he will be accepted because of his record. So if anyone has any info please let me know

Update:

He hasnt done anything major its just a bunch of petty crimes and old warrants that have caught him up mostly within this last.

With that long a record, it's doubtful any of the services would grant a waiver allowing him to enlist, as he seems to be a career criminal.

connect the army and placed on yet another 10 kilos of muscle weight. in case you are able to study and write and have the right academic skills the secret provider will take you as long as you're no longer a profession criminal. this is an identical ingredient as desirous to be an vehicle mechanic and not understanding the thank you to artwork on autos or desirous to be a dentist yet you have yellow teeth. in case you wanted to be a boxer yet did no longer understand the thank you to combat i could permit you already know a similar ingredient. in case you go with the secret provider to make certain on you're making your self into something the secret provider needs. the secret provider needs vast, sturdy, clever adult males. purely considering you have a severe score on some video sport does no longer qualify you for the secret provider.

He has a pattern of misconduct 12 years long. He can talk to an Army Recruiter to see if they can waiver him in. I know in the Navy it would be impossible.

depends on what it was for. But probably not, sorry. If it was a one time thing than his changes would be better because he could say he was young ans stupid, but if it was going on for over 10 years, than that kinda says a lot about his character.

Depends on what he has done.
