If i was induced before will I have to be again?

I was induced with my first baby because I was a week over due. Does this mean I will have to be induced with my second baby?

Nope...not at all. Each birth is different. Usually, second babies come faster anyway, so you could very easily have no problems with this one.

With my first child labor was induced. My water broke but I didn't go into labor. My second child came quickly, all on his own. So, no, I think it would depend on the reason the first child was induced.

  • no doesnt mean you will...my 1st i was 42 weeks my 2nd i was 38 weeks and my 3rd i was 42 weeks. so all pregnancies are different

    Source(s): 33 weeks with baby #4

No it doesn't. You may deliver completely normal this time. Talk to your doctor about this and get a second opinion. Some doctors may for reasons known only to them choose to induce labor. IF the baby was at risk or the pregnancy was causing you problems then induction was necessary. There are too many possibilities to say yes they will or no they won't.

not necessarily, every pregnancy is different

Not necessarily, first babies usually take longer and due dates are just estimates. A lot of providers wont induce till 42 weeks because it is normal for due dates to be off 2 weeks either direction. Even at 42 weeks you can choose to go longer a lot of women do, babies come when they are ready. I would research induction including natural induction methods. Induction has risks for you and babe, it also increases your risk of a C-sec. It is your job to make informed choices you do not have to always agree with your OB/Midwife.

    Good Luck!
