Creationists: Please give me a definition of evolution that would get full credit on a biology exam?
When I was working on my Master's degree, I was an academic mentor, sort of an ubertutor and advisor for underprivileged undergrads. About 30 of the people I tutored were in Biology 100 (introduction to biology for non-science majors) or Biology 101 (Human Biology) another 20 or so were in Biology 114 & 116 (Biology for Science Majors I, II) another 10 were in Evolution. I also dealt with a large group taking Physical Anthropology.
One of the questions that appeared on tests from at least a dozen different professors was "What is evolution" and regardless of the professor's discipline, a one-sentence answer was expected.
I have long suspected Creationists use a different definition than Scientists. Please give me the definition of evolution you use.
Honest creationists are not found in the Biology section, they are found here. As I said more than one dozen professors expected a similar answer. I don't expect the exact words (although anyone here for a while knows it) but if one is opposed to evolution, it stands to reason one can say what it is they oppose. Thank you.
I actually just went to the website and counted who taught those courses, so it's like 20 something professors. If anyone was counting. LOL.

The way that Mayr worded it is really easy to remember and understand: The genetic turnover in a population from generation to generation. It's the same as change in allele frequency, but it gives people who don't know what alleles are a shot at grasping it.

Hail LabGrrl!
From now on, all questions by Creationists on the subject of evolution shall be prefixed with their thumbnail description of what evolution is - so we know whether they are worthy of an answer.

The change in the gene pool of a population from generation to generation by such processes as mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift.

Evolution is the theory of the adaptation of species over long periods of time through means of natural selection and genetic diversity resulting in the formation of new species.
Just because us creationists don't believe in the theory of evolution doesn't mean that we don't understand what it is.

there is no such thing as evolution; we call it 'adaption' as each and every one of us is still adapting to our environment.
edit----can you prove evolution; are there still missing links or have they all been found?
I don't care about the thumbs down either

That is a loaded question because not having taken that specific course how could we know what the professor expects. You take a course and the professor gives you a one sentence definition of evolution which you memorize and then on the exam you write it down. Does that make you an authority on evolution?
