I have a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Classic. This is not the only vehicle that this has ever happened to me in. I want to be in control of when fresh air flows into my truck. I don't want to have other cars' exhaust just suddenly coming into the truck.....is there a way to override this and shut it off from happening?

The Bible tells us that Adam literally walked with God (an awesome reality that we can look forward to when all things are made new someday). My question is (and this is going to breed many opinions, no doubt): Do you think God walked with Adam and Eve in the form of Christ (pre-incarnate)? In other words....in human form and likeness?

Been a while since I've been here. A question came up this morning concerning Acts chapter 1 and Matthew chapter 27. How do we reconcile these two accounts of Judas?

We know he threw the silver coins back at the Pharisees in disgust when he realized what he had done - But Acts chapter 1 tells us that he bought a field (presumably with the silver?) and hung himself in it.

Hello friends, it's been a long time since I've been on Answers as I try to avoid this place like the plague now. I have a question for you:

Besides the obvious (Jesus Christ), when we finally get to heaven someday either by rapture or by death, who from the Scriptures would you most like to just sit and talk to?

Apart from Jesus Himself, I would love to just chat with John (the apostle).....or perhaps Jeremiah (maybe tell him how Theologians call him the "weeping" prophet here on earth)

I have been producing my own music using Garage Band on my Mac for a few years now and I love it. However, is there a program that exists where I can take my finished product and somehow arrange it onto sheet music?

For someone like me who doesn't really read music too well but loves to write and create songs.....a program like this would be most helpful so that I can communicate my music to other musicians who do know how to read music.

Morality has a measuring rod: The LORD.......it begins and ends with Him. We do NOT create our own morality - God's laws are what govern us.

So why do some adhere to the lie that morality is based on anything else other than God?

Truly, no one knows the day or the hour of Christ's return......but I have to admit that the way things are unfolding in our world today, Jesus will be back to snatch His church off the planet very soon. This is not only my deepest desire (to go home soon), but it is also what the indwelling Holy Spirit of God tells me as a believer.

Here are verses 21-28

"Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment."

Question:

We know that salvation was for the Jew first....and then the Gentile (Romans 1). Does this episode in the verses above tell us that perhaps.......salvation was open to all who had faith in Christ even before the gospel was presented to the Gentile (the rest of us)?

"For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted."

Questions:

1) What do people (more specifically, Jehovah's Witnesses) who do not believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ do with these verses?

2) How can one NOT clearly see that Yahweh had to take on flesh in order to make atonement for our sins?

Here is the verse:

"The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them"

This of course, came right after the LORD had proclaimed that the curse of sin would now infultrate the entire creation. Here is the question I have today:

Do you consider this act (the making of the garments for them) to be God's very first act of redemption towards us (sinful man)? Adam and Eve felt shame because of their nakedness and after their eyes were opened.....so God made a "covering" for their shame, in reality. What are your thoughts on this?

We all know the story. We all know how the Lord provided at the last second in this scenario. Abraham trusted the Lord that even if he were to carry out the sacrifice of his own son Isaac, that God would somehow fulfill the promise of Genesis 15 where He told Abraham "I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars" (paraphrasing there). I mention Isaac having the same faith here because he was old enough to know exactly what was going on and could have run away....but didn't.

So fellow believers..........are we capable of carrying out this same kind of absolute faith and reliance on the Lord today?

I know I know.....this question is in the wrong category.....but I figured all of my contacts (and even my enemies) are here the majority of the time so.....here it goes:

What is the purpose of royalty in England?

There is a Queen.......a couple of princes......soon to be a new princess (next year when William marries).....and perhaps a king someday (if and when Elizabeth dies - I think that's how it works). And to top it all off, there is a Prime Minister. So who's really in charge and who really calls the shots?

Sorry about all the questions. Guess I'm just used to life here in the states.

I am what you would call a 5 point Calvinist in my core beliefs as a born again Christian. Alot of people have trouble with the "L" in the acrostic "TULIP" - which is used to describe Calvinism (the L represents "Limited Atonement). My question today doesn't deal with limited atonement, however. It deals with regeneration.

Question:

I firmly believe that one must be regenerated by the Holy Spirit of God before faith can be a factor. In other words: We don't have the capacity to have faith without first being enabled to believe. So which school of thought do you believe and why?

I take the Genesis account of creation very serious and literal....as it was meant to be taken. I hold to a literal 6 day creation with a 7th day of rest based upon the Hebrew word for day (yom) which has it's common meaning throughout the Old Testament in a literal 24 hour period. I also hold to a young creation - The earth being no older than 6 to maybe 10 thousand years old. With that aside, here is my question for you:

At what point in human history did folks suddenly begin to buy into the lie of evolution?

Clearly, this debate wasn't an issue in Biblical times......so it must be a little more modern in its timeframe - Perhaps within the last 200 years or so?

Here are the glorious verses:

“For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.”

In Christ alone we are made pure and cleansed from sin. This of course, doesn’t mean that we wont fall short in our daily lives (as we are still in the flesh until we die). This is made perfectly clear in Romans chapter 7 where even Paul admits his struggle to do what is right almost daily. So here is my question:

Do you think that when we have finally reached our permanent home in heaven, that we will have any recollection of the fact of what we once were (sinners living in imperfection)?

I have every reason to believe that we will not remember anything bad, evil, or sinful.

This section of Scripture deals with the parable of the talents. I wont post all the verses for space sake. If you've read this parable, then you know the basic gist of the story: To whom much is given, much is required....and it's not a good idea to bury our God-given talents away and not do anything with them. If I'm not mistaken, the word 'talents' here can mean not only our abilities, but also money. So with that said, here's my question:

If you know that you know that you have a God-given talent (in this case, an actual talent and not money) but yet.....all doors allowing you to utilize that talent seem to close on you.......where do you go from there? Do we keep pressing forward and continue to "knock on doors" so to speak....or do we give up and simply "bloom where we're planted" and let God's will for our lives come to us instead?

Here is the verse:

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Now obviously it’s not a good idea to talk about one verse without mentioning the others around it and throughout the Bible. This is where Jesus referred to Himself as the bread of life. This was also right after he fed the 5,000 (or as I like to say, fed the 15,000 – women and children included).

Let me preface this question by saying that I lean heavily on the side of reformed theology (Calvinism, Martin Luther….etc) and am a firm believer in Total depravity (or as RC Sproul calls it: Radical corruption). The acronym TULIP is always on my brain when it comes to how I view the Scriptures and the like. Here is my question today:

Do you believe according to the Scriptures that mankind in and of himself is capable of coming to Christ on his own? (My answer – No. We are sinners incapable of knowing God unless our eyes are opened by the Spirit and we are drawn in by God).

I answered my own question here but would love to hear yours and your reasoning - especially if you disagree with me. I still love you by the way - even if we disagree.

I wasn't saved in 1985.......I was only 15 and could care less about religious things back then. I got saved in 2000 at the age of 30 and only recently heard about and read into this Jesus Seminar thing.

So what do you think......are there still some lingering effects from this nonsensical seminar?

Those guys were nuts trying to change doctrine.......

I know you've read it.....I know you've studied it like I have. These are some tough verses for us to swallow. They speak about the LORD "choosing some vessels for honor and some for dishonor" and such. But how do we handle them? Do we finally have to agree that God is sovereign and chooses whom He wants for salvation?

Does the sovereignty of God and the free will of man work together somehow beyond our ability to understand how?
