Fellow believers, a small question about Genesis 3:21?
Here is the verse:
"The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them"
This of course, came right after the LORD had proclaimed that the curse of sin would now infultrate the entire creation. Here is the question I have today:
Do you consider this act (the making of the garments for them) to be God's very first act of redemption towards us (sinful man)? Adam and Eve felt shame because of their nakedness and after their eyes were opened.....so God made a "covering" for their shame, in reality. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks....and be blessed in Him today....I look forward to your Godly wisdom and input.

Jesus was still 100% God even though He was 100% human so.......I would imagine that the nude body.....regardless of who's it was.....was still considered to be a shameful thing. Christ was without sin, this we know for sure. But He was still subject to a frail, human body while He was here for 33 years or so.

I think it was as mentioned the first sacrifice forshadowing Jesus' sacrifice yet to come, but I also see it as a loving God, letting his children know that even though they disobeyed Him, He still loved them enough to show them how they could clothe themselves. Providing for their needs, even before they knew they had such needs.

Barnes' Notes on the Bible
As Genesis 3:20 records an instance of humble, apprehending faith in the divine word, so here we have a manifest act of mercy on the part of God, indicating the pardon and acceptance of confessing, believing man, rejoicing in anticipation of that future victory over the serpent which was to be accomplished by the seed of the woman. This act is also suitable to the present circumstances of man, and at the same time strikingly significant of the higher blessings connected with restoration to the divine favor. He had discovered his nakedness, and God provides him with a suitable covering. He was to be exposed to the variations of climate, and here was a durable protection against the weather. But far more than this. He had become morally naked, destitute of that peace of conscience which is an impenetrable shield against the shame of being blamed and the fear of being punished; and the coats of skin were a faithful emblem and a manifest guarantee of those robes of righteousness which were hereafter to be provided for the penitent in default of that original righteousness which he had lost by transgression. And, finally, there is something remarkable in the material out of which the coats were made. They were most likely obtained by the death of animals; and as they do not appear yet to have been slain for food, some have been led to conjecture that they were offered in sacrifice - slain in prefiguration of that subsequent availing sacrifice which was to take away sin. It is the safer course, however, to leave the origin of sacrifice an open question. Scripture does not intimate that the skins were obtained in consequence of sacrifice; and apart from the presumption derived from these skins,

They were afraid BECAUSE they were NAKED! This came as a fulfillment to what God earlier said to them in the book of Genesis, in 2:17 “But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." The moment they were not in God’s will, they died spiritually and inner peace was replaced with fear.
It is interesting that it is God who makes the first sacrifice after their disobedience, in order to clothe them properly: Gen 3:21 “The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.”
It’s also interesting that all other creatures had coverings. Animals had fur, fish had feathers and fish had scales or shells. But man did not have any outer covering, as he didn't need it before his fall. Why? The answer is found in Ps 8:5 “You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.”
The original Hebrew word for “crowned” here is “tª`aTreehuw”, from the verb “`atar” (aw-tar'), which means “to encircle”, “to surround”. In other words this text says that Adam and Eve were surrounded by glory. They had been clothed with the glory of God and didn’t need natural clothing.
Naturally, once they were not in the center of God’s will, that glory was evaporated and they found themselves “naked”. Good reason to be scared!
God’s Actions was Not an Actual/Literal “Act” of Redemption (Redemption comes Only thru Jesus Christ’s Shed Blood), But this was a Type (or Picture) to Point forward to Christ.

It was a foreshadowing or prefiguring of Christ's sacrificial death at Calvary. Just as an animal had to die to provide the covering for Adam and Eve, Christ's sacrifice at Calvary and His shed blood is our covering for sin. Just as Adam and Eve accepted the covering God provided we must accept the blood of Christ as or covering for the sins we have committed . Then we must walk in newness of life, forsaking sin.

great point! Yes, I'm quite sure it was...It was also a reminder that we should take shame for our sins rather than the purity that should have come from one without sins and sees nothing in nudity.
Now that you've asked that, I have to wonder if Jesus saw the nude body as God's form of perfection rather than a vulgar form because he was without sin? Your thoughts?

Great question. Yes, there is no doubt this was a proto-type of the sacrificial system and pointed to the substitutionary atonement of the cross. Redemption must come outside of us. God must provided it for us. There is no hope of any self salvation project. There is no hope of saving ourselves because of our polluted, tainted, sinful hearts. Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

This verse can be interpretated in two ways. The first one is this. The second one is that Adam and Eve were spirits in Heaven and by 'garments of skin' maybe it is meant real flesh.
These are the two most common ways to interpretate Genesis 3:21

I bet the sight of God killing an animal and skinning it have traumatized the poor guys more than anything they've seen before, including that fruit of knowledge scandal.

Yes. That was the first sacrifice made to cover our shame.
Now because of Jesus' final sacrifice our shame is gone.
