Fellow Christians, a question about Hebrews 10:1-3?
Here are the glorious verses:
“For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.”
In Christ alone we are made pure and cleansed from sin. This of course, doesn’t mean that we wont fall short in our daily lives (as we are still in the flesh until we die). This is made perfectly clear in Romans chapter 7 where even Paul admits his struggle to do what is right almost daily. So here is my question:
Do you think that when we have finally reached our permanent home in heaven, that we will have any recollection of the fact of what we once were (sinners living in imperfection)?
I have every reason to believe that we will not remember anything bad, evil, or sinful.
Your input, believers. Thanks…..and be blessed in Him today.
Thanks, Mike - I had forgotten about that verse in Isaiah

Possibly.
Isaiah 65:17 "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.
I think that this verse might hint that things in heaven are so great that over time, we will forget how we are now.
Personally, I want to remember, mostly because of how thankful I am for Christ's sacrifice for us and how much He has changed me.

There will be no more sin. It is likely that there will be n more remembrance of sin. All will be thrown it to the sea of forgetfulness never to be brought u again. Our accuser (satan) will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone.
Is our final destination heaven? I recently had that bible study in my home. If heaven is our final destination what is the purpose of the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven? Why is it written that the meek shall (will) inherit the earth? Why is it written that the earth was made to be inhabited? Did God change His mind?
I'm a firm believer that God says what He means and means what He says.

Well Yes of course, You mentioned Isaiah. Yes, Isaiah 65:17 tells us, “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.” Some interpret Isaiah 65:17 as saying that we will have no memory of our earthly lives in heaven. However, one verse earlier in Isaiah 65:16, the Bible says, “For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.” It is likely only our “past troubles” that will be forgotten – not all of our memories. Our memories will be cleansed, redeemed, healed, and restored – not erased. There is no reason why we could not possess many memories from our earthly lives. The memories that will be cleansed are the ones that involve sin, pain, and sadness. Revelation 21:4 declares, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
Some point to the story of Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31) as proof that the dead remember their earthly lives. The rich man asked Abraham to send Lazarus back to earth to warn the rich man’s brothers not to come to hell. So he remembered his relatives. He must have also remembered his own life of sin because he never asked to be released from hell, nor did he ask why he was there or claim there had been some kind of mistake. He remembered enough about his earthly life to know that he deserved hell. But this is no proof that those in heaven remember their earthly lives. The rich man’s remembrance was part of his misery. If we have memories in heaven, they will only be of things that will bring us joy.
The Wonder of Heaven: A Biblical Tour of Our Eternal Home

Great question. I think the new heavens and new earth will be so wonderful, beautiful, full of holiness, joy, love, peace, satisfaction, glory that we will not remember this old sinful, sin cursed, evil, temporal, earthy, satanic, anti-God, pagan, idolatrous world that was so tempting, alluring, captivating to us still sinful Christians. One thing we won't do in the eternal state is repent of our sin anymore. We enter into a new realm, the eternal kingdom of God wherein righteousness dwells. No, heaven will not be an eternal church service.

I believe we will remember some things, otherwise we wouldn't recognize our fellow believers when were sliding on those Golden streets. I think the unimportant things won't be remembered at all. I think we'll be so caught up in the Presence of God, that we won't care about life before.

1-3 is explaining the alter sacrifices were done each year and could not permanently pay the debt for sins. The sacrifices could be a permanent offering for sin.Jesus is the only way to pay the full debt of all sins. The only way sin could be forever forgiven and forgotten.
vs 6-25 Jesus' sacrifice (once) forever forgives the redeemed person of all sins (the temple sacrifices could never pay the everlasting debt of sin.)

Revelation 7:9-17 (King James Version)
9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

No. God cannot become a man; "for I am God, and not man" (Hosea 11:9). But God could be "manifest in the flesh" (1 Timothy 3:16). What Adam and Eve heard was "the angel of his presence" (Isaiah 63:9) to whom God referred to as "my name is in him" (Exodus 23:21). Hence, "his [the angel's] voice" is "all that I speak" (Exodus 23:22). This was indeed a theophany.

After the Great White Throne Judgment, God does wipe away all tears, that is clearly stated.

We better remember, how much more will the grace of God be. As for the guilt, that will be washed away as forgivness is revealed to us in full glory.
There are things I have done in this life, I would prefer not to remember, but they are part of who I am.....I would not want to lose them....even if they are difficult to face.

Our present life will be transformed including our memory. Made better not eliminated.
