Fellow believers in Christ, who would you choose?

Hello friends, it's been a long time since I've been on Answers as I try to avoid this place like the plague now. I have a question for you:

Besides the obvious (Jesus Christ), when we finally get to heaven someday either by rapture or by death, who from the Scriptures would you most like to just sit and talk to?

Apart from Jesus Himself, I would love to just chat with John (the apostle).....or perhaps Jeremiah (maybe tell him how Theologians call him the "weeping" prophet here on earth)

Your thoughts, believers.

great question. I see you have a "soul sleeper" in your midst. that's ok friend, i won't call you a heretic if you don't call me one (or a liar at least). are you by chance a 7th day Adventist?

God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. It seems to me that on the Transfiguration Moses and Elijah were with Jesus, they were not sleeping. It seems to me when you look at the phrase, "I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God is not the God of the dead but of the living, we have tgo assume that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are living. Why didn't God restore Job's children with the same number as he restored every other thing? Because they were living. Why did Paul say to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and "I have a desire to be with you and to be with Christ which is far better?" Far better sleeping?????? How is that far better. The thief on the cross received the promise "today you will be with me in paradise" what kind of promise is that if he only was going to be non conscious sleeping. In Revelation 6 John saw the souls who were slain for the testimony of the Lord saying "how long O Lord?: Were they talking in their sleep????

I think there is Scriptural evidence to support a conscious existence before our Lord's return. Please dont call people liars who believe that. I won't call you one either for believing in soul sleep.

I can see where you might get that.

Who would I like to speak with? HMM. John Calvin what really went on with Severus. there is so much controversy 500 years later.

Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles. I relate to him in so many ways. I started off on the wrong track, I never walked with Jesus while He was on this earth, I had a Damascus moment, and I have a thorn that I must bear with the Grace of God.

    Mary would be my choice.

No one knows all the things that she saw and heard as Jesus was growing up, and I'd love to spend a good big chunk of eternity just listening to her tell stories of His life.

    Child of God,

Blessings! Please don't be discouraged by the many here who challenge you...This is how you grow and this is how you grow closer to God and Son....Embrace it ! Encourage it! Give thanks to God each time someone , whether they be Christian (So called) or non....Anyone can call themselves a Christian but only God knows our hearts and minds...

To answer your question....No one other than God himself and that will happen all too soon for us...But I rather enjoy the God breathed questions I have for many here as I know now that it is in fact, God who brings us to this legion...I know it is God who allows us to question others to help us grow and learn to trust and bind ourselves to him all the more...Amen...

    Ephesians 4

8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

No one has ascended up into heaven other than Christ.

    John 3:13

And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

There will be a lot of minister that will have to give an account for that lie. Yes we know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The body goes back to the dust and the Spirit (life, breath) goes back to God from where it came. But the soul is not in heaven. David, Peter Abraham are not looking down on us right now. They are all waiting for the return just as we are waiting for the return of Christ.

    Acts 2:34

For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

One more thing to provoke you and others to read and study. Where is found that says that Heaven is where we will go? Where will you find the rapture in the bible?

Jesus is coming down out of heaven. The New Jerusalem is coming down from heaven.

God does not change. Whatever he has said he meant. He said the earth was made to be in habitat. He said the meek shall inherit the earth.

    Matthew 5:18

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
