I like a guy, I don't know if he likes me...?

There is a guy that I know and over the past month or so we have been talking a lot on the phone we lost contact for a few years but have picked up now... He is 21, I am 28. First of all is this to much of an age gap? He is very mature for his age... Should I just continue to be a friend or should I do more? If I should pursue the relationship what should I do? I have been in this situation before with a guy and I told him how I felt about him and ended up really hurt because he didn't see us as anything but friends...and maybe that's how this guy is to...friends only never more. Now if we do start dating and then break up what is your opinion on us staying friends later? Thanks for all of your help in my crazy world!!

    First of all, if you really like/love him age truly is just a number. (Unless it's like a 40 year old man dating a 12 year old girl, eww) It's really good that he's mature for his age. If you want to advance your relationship into something more romantic let him know, but not blatantly. If you do start dating and then break up later, I think you should stay friends.

    some times the scariest thing to ask is the question of feelings if your really curious about dating him then you have to talk to him ask him where you guys stand friends or more and i don't think that is a big gap

    Maybe ask him to dinner, or out for coffee. In my experience you rarely ever go back to being just friends. Have done it with one ex though. Took a few years but we are friends again. She is married and last I heard should have just had a baby.

    no stay as a friend dont go any deeper , thats a huge age if you'd ask me.

    just talk to the some more and hang out with him and see where that will end up
