I hear breastfeeding permanently changes your breasts; in what way?
From what I hear your breasts are "never the same again" after breastfeeding. What is the big change?
I mean, all the pre-birth breast growth and initial milk production stretching/sagging would be the same whether women breastfeed or not, so what is it about _continuing_ to breastfeed that's different?
(I will breastfeed if I can, this question isn't a factor in any way; I am just wondering.)
Thanks for your advice!

My guess is that it's really about a person's genetics. Though I have yet to find out what my body and boobs will be like following breastfeeding since I'm only 8 weeks into all of this.
However, I do have many girlfriends whose bodies now look better than before they gave birth (of course due to working out and healthy lifestyles) and who make no complaints about their breasts being any different. They're also strong advocates though of wearing a bra 24/7 post-partum. I'm following this advice and hoping for the best!
I think it comes down to each individual's genetic make-up, nutrition and lifestyle during pregnancy, and post-partum care. Maybe?

Appearance wise, you are right. Breastfeeding doesn't alter the appearance when all is said and done. The pregnancy, does that.
One way that breastfeeding CAN make a difference though is by lowering your risk of breast cancer.

Breast are never the same after having a baby. Breastfeeding shouldn't really matter. Mine are still the same after having two kids, just a tad bigger. The youngest is 2 months old, so I'm sure when I lost some more weight they'll be back to a full C cup. Mine never sagged and both were/are breastfed.
BTW: Props for chosing to breastfeed! It will be hard at first but in time you will see how much easier it is than bottle-feeding.

Mine were permanently larger and far more sensitive.
They didn't sag from either pregnancy or breastfeeding, they did stretch though, since they went up more than 2 cup sizes (and the back pain that went with the milk weight).
The only thing the actually feeding changed was the color. Much darker now than they were.

PREGNANCY changes your breasts.
Even if you don't breastfeed, your boobs are still going to fill up with milk, get engorged, then empty.

That's a myth... PREGNANCY changes your breast.
