Back in the day, sneezing was an early symptom of the plague or some other illness which, back then, usually resulted in death. They say bless you because they may not see you again and hope you will have eternal life.

I don't. I say "Gesundheit", which is German for good health. Just a good wish for some one you care for.

back in the days waaayyyyyyyy back they believed that when you sneezed your soul would leave your body so they said bless you to make sure it came back. now-a-days its just a polite thing to do and if someone sneezes in the middle of a test its a good excuse to take a small break.

Because before all good science people thought that people who sneezed had some sort of disease. So they said bless you to hope you dont get ill :)

Because each and every organ in your body comes to a stop at that instant. So you actually die for a second or so.

Cause people used to believe that your soul escaped your body when you sneezed, and if no one said bless you to you, it would be gone forever.
