Do chihuahua males not like their babies?

I have a 2 year old chihuahua and he kinda took advantage of my 6 month old pomeranian now we have a 2 month old puppy but he acts as if he hates her!

Is their something we can do?

Is it normal?

Update:

Oh no!

My pom is almost 9 months now and yes we were very very upset when this happened fearing for the mother and pupies life.

[she only had one pup]

Good lord......Get the whole lot of them spayed and neutered. Males have no attachment to their offspring past the point of the tie with the b*tch.

Oh goodie....your puppy had a puppy. Now the pup is a female, as well. Do you think it might be a good idea to start altering your pets? Will the "dad" be "taking advantage" of his daughter when she is 6 months old? This is sooooooo sad. BTW, the father has no idea that this pup is his daughter, nor does he care. But, he will in another 4 months or so if you don't get her spayed. Shame, shame, shame on you for letting this even happen.

your pom was too yougg to even have been bred from.

first you need to book the male in to the vets to get fixed, then when your pom is a little older book her in to get spayed.

ANIMALS neither RECOGNIZE nor CARE about their off-spring!

    Because...they are ANIMALS!!!!

Breed em or kill em....makes no difference to ANIMALS.

    SPAY & ***CASTRATE*** TODAY!!!

    ALL 3 animals! TODAY

  • The chihuahua is probably jelous of how much attention it gets or it could be because not all dog fathers like their kids

Neuter and spay your dogs. There is no reason in this world you should have allowed them to breed more mutts. If the 2 month old puppy is the offsping, separate them and get him/her fixed too so you don't have more accidents.

Intact dogs usually have a harder time getting along.

he's being a typical male, human or dog, the male may sometimes disown its young. If the pup bites at him or simply gets on his nerves he may push it aside...i suggest getting ur dogs fixed and this won't happen again....Plus, it's the female that usually has the loving feelings

Your six month old Pom has a two month old pup? So she was bred at four months? You risked her life. What happened to the rest of this litter?

First, neuter the Chihuahua, spay the Pom.

Second--Males don't have any attachment to their offspring. Heck, most dams don't even care after they're weaned.
