What is an elevation sketch? I'm taking engineering class in high school and I need help. Please Respond.?

I'm supposed to draw elevation sketches of an external room's (?) wall and I'm not clear what they are. Are they orthographic (multiview) or a view from the top like a floor plan? Please respond.

It's a view that shows the wall as if you were looking straight at it. So you would show, for a four-sided room, four rectangles (like the north wall, east wall, south wall, west wall). There is no perspective.

If it helps, imagine having to make a paper model of a room; how you lay out the walls to fold it up is how the elevations would be laid out on your drafting vellum.

It is like a sketch of the wall when you are standing in front of the house and looking at it.

Not from the top. Just like you took a photo of the exterior wall, including the doors, windows, etc.
