Impossible math problem..no man has ever solved it. Can you?

So a toilet 's standard height is 15 inches.

The average size of the opening to the toilet bowl is 20L x 16W (inches)

The average height for an American Male is 5' 9.4

The average penis size is 9.5cm (non-erect)

So at what distance should the average male stand from the toilet to actually hit the mark? Also at what specific angle should he aim?

Thanks for your time in helping solve this earthly crisis.

Weird problem....what kind of school do you go to?

This is a simple approximation problem. First off you need to find the area of the toilet bowl, which is oval (the opening, anyways)...in mathematics the oval is known as an ellipse.

However, the problem with this is that you are ignoring the density of the pee, the acceleration of the pee, and velocity. Yes, objects do come down at 9.8 m/s^2 on Earth...however - some questions would need to be answered first:

    1. How fast is the pee being shot at(rate of velocity at a given time)

    2. Is this in the Earth? "Earthly crisis" - perhaps it is in an asteroid that is about to hit Earth.

This problem, my friend, cannot be solved.

Edit: Richard S...he cannot sit - the question asks how far the average male must STAND.

The only problems are (1) there are too many for a single Yahoo! question, and (2) these equations are all very possible and simple -- once you get to the part of your class that shows you how. It is quite easy to understand that they look impossible if you are still 4 chapters away from this topic. I'll pick two or three at random and do them step-by-step. If the steps do not make any sense, wait till you've covered those four chapters. If they do make sense and show how this kind of "impossible" equation is done, then you're that much ahead of the game. 3. 7t - 6 = -104 Add 6 to both sides: 7t - 6 + 6 = -104 + 6 (simplify) 7t = -98 Now divide both sides of the equation by 7: 7t / 7 = -98 / 7 (simplify) t = -14 <<=== there's your answer. 7. 2h - 1/10 = 5/8 Add 1/10 to both sides: 2h - 1/10 + 1/10 = 5/8 + 1/10 (simplify - this may involve some messy arithmetic, but that's all it is: arithmetic) 2h = 29/40 Now divide both sides by 2 (or multiply by 1/2) and simplify: 1/2(2h) = 1/2 * 29/40 h = 29/80 <<=== answer. 11. a / 7 + 10 = 17 Subtract 10 from both sides and simplify (I'll combine them into one step): a / 7 = 7 Multiply both sides by 7 and simplify: a = 49 <<=== answer.

Scratch the math. The man's gonna miss anyway.

I just sort of aim in the general direction---if I am on my best behaviour, I will even be in the bathroom when I do it. ;)

Put a sign over the toilet that says "Don't flatter yourself. Come closer."

    LMAO. I'm in tears.

I am 65 years old, so I straddle it.

edit: While standing I should have added. -- smiles

Frankly I don't want to have to measure all kinds of angles and distances every time I have to pee.
