How do I convince my parents to let me have a MySpace?

All my friends have one, but they don't let me. They say it's too mature for me.

Update:

All my friends have one, but they say no. They say it's too mature for me. I'm 11 and turning 12 in August.

um. always point out the positve things about it

-you can block whoever you dont want as a friend

-no one sees your pictures or profile if they are not your friend

(if you set is at private)

    -its a social thing

-if you dont someone as a friend you do not have to accept

    hope that helps:D

myspace is overrated! listen to your parents - if you disobey them they will be less likely to trust you when your older and want to do more fun things than myspace....just listen to your parents!!

well it depends on your age. if you are able to get a myspace, then you can set your profile to private and have the settings put to were people can only add you if they know your email or your last name. myspace is a pretty safe place, as long as you only talk to people you know. don't add anyone you haven't researched first. if someone You don't know adds you, then you can go look at there profile Information and decide whether you want to add them or not.

good luck with convincing your parents. if you de get one, you can add me and i can show you around the place. tell you what and what not to do. loll

You have to prove that you are mature enough. Just becasue everyone else has one that doesn't make you anymore mature.

Tell her that you are aware the dangers that are out on the internet when you place personal information for people to see. Explain to them the safety features that make sure random people can't find out who you are. Tell them that you don't intent to meet strangers with your myspace but to just comunicate with personal friends. Your parents greatest fear is probably about sexaul predators so just figure out how people actually get nailed by them as opposed to the number of people that have a myspace and tell them the news blows it out of proportion like other things

    Ask them about facebook instead.

OH MY! I have a myspace & that stuff is dangerous. But if I were you do get one I would recommend you have only people you know on there. I used to add people IDK, but now I deleted them all because I cant trust anyone. But how to convince you parents. Well first off don't talk about things you shouldnt be talkin or saying on there. But if they know how to put parental controls on there or give them your password. I dont like the idea of giving my parents my password because then they know my password to everything. Or you can get them to watch you while you're on myspace or you could start taking more responcebility & ask them if you can have a myspace. But remember be careful if you get one. There are creeps out there. & NEVER MEET SOME ONE OFF OF THERE! OR ANYWHERE OFF THE INTERNET!
