You are right in every respect. Kartel dominated for most of the time (although it was easy in his back yard), but Mavado came back. The circumstances can't really be fairly assessed because the environment was HEAVILY BIASED. Mavado did the right thing by getting off that stage..."Quitting while you are ahead is not the same as quitting".

Who is bigger than who? locally and internationally?

Locally they are both on par. They are both 'established artistes' to the public in jamaica. Many people were offended by kartels 'devil-like' remarks within the last few weeks but OBVIOUSLY that didnt hurt his popularity at sting.

Internationally? Mavado has broken new ground as a Dancehall artiste. He has done things that NO OTHER dancehall artiste has EVER been able to do. This is not to suggest that he is bigger than Beenie and Bounti or Yellowman, but the truth is that Movado has crossed over in a way that Kartel HAS NEVER. He has excited new audiences. Kartel hasn't grown much since his first album flopped (partly due to his gun charge and sting fist fight with Ninja Man at the time).

To be fair, some would say that Mavado's first album ALSO flopped, but at least in a very short time he has accomplished other things internationally that would still give him HUGE progress.

Jay-Z has never officially appeared on any other dancehall track.

How can someone "DISS" movado by comparing him to a well-respected veteran of dancehall?

Last time i checked the math (discreetly), mad cobra IS STILL one of the biggest earners in the Jamaican music business (REAL FACTS, NOT GUESSWORK). He is probably over 40 years old, and reportedly makes even more money from his 'other business activities' in portmore. He is a VERY moody artiste who records music when HE feels like.

Why should MAD COBRA (who got his international 'buss' just after Shabba Ranks and YEARS before the "new grandpa" Beenie Man became an international star), be interested in remaining in the same mix as Vibes Kartel and Mavado? He is NOT interested in doing that.

To suggest a lack of 'talent and staying power' is DISRESPECT. Mad Cobra is a DANCEHALL VETERAN. He paid his dues. He opened doors. He is still respected. In many ways, Movado is opening doors the way Mad Cobra did. Movado's billboard sales SHOW THAT.

ANYBODY who doesnt know that is clueless about dancehall music and chatting absolute GARBAGE!

they are both famous but there is no way mavado can walk in kartel shoes reason being kartel is more experience in the business and have more songs he can also cuss and make songs off everything mavado on the other hand his songs no so slack like kartel own and people rate him for thst but kartel is the boss its not all about sting but check other stageshows

Mavado has crap for music & ability. He's the "new kid on the block" so of course there will be plenty of fans...now....but will he last ?? I don't think so. Is talent/style is marginal at best.
