about Alcohol poisoning?

How much alcohol does it take to be poisoned? How do you treat it? What's the most common symptom?

Alcohol poisoning is kind of difficult from what I understand. An actual "poisoning" would depend on the volume of alcohol consumed vs. the body mass index of the person who ingested the alcohol, as well as your body's immunities to it's properties due to previous alchoholism or lack thereof.

Treatment, in mild cases, would be the great white porcelain throne. Get a pillow for your knees. Get the aspirin ready for when you are done vomiting. For serious cases, call 911 immediately. They'll have to do a stomach pumping or charcoal treatment.

Common Symptoms are nausea, vomiting, redness of face, swelling of glands, extreme disorientation and sometimes even unconsciousness. Being drunk though already, you wouldn't even notice some of the symptoms unless you knew what you're looking for.

Alcohol poisoning happens when someone drinks a large amount of alcohol in a short period of time. November 15, 2007: Volume 34 #23 For example, alcohol poisoning could be caused by: • binge drinking (having more than five drinks at once) • drinking games • funneling • chugging. If an individual drinks too much too fast, the amount of alcohol in the person’s blood – blood alcohol concentration (BAC) – rises to a high level very quickly. A BAC of 200-300 mg per cent would likely cause alcohol poisoning.

The amount differs with each person. You should never treat it yourself, always call a doctor. Typically the person will be "passed out" or vomiting, etc....
