What did you look for this year when buying your cards? And your wrapping paper?

Cute? Glittery? Minimalist? Modern? Traditional?

What attracts you most on a card?

Thank you.

Update:

Update 2:

Update 3:

Well Pooh! Funny you should ask this, beause for the first time i was very selfish with my Xmas cards The reason being i had lost my dog of five years in the summer, and was given a pup for my birthday in Oct,

consequently all my cards were of pups wearing Santa hats 'sitting under Xmas trees in fact every one that received a card had a pup of every breed you can think of. with a Xmas theme. lol I really enjoyed shopping for them.it was also a way of introducing my pup to everyone.

As for wrapping paper i am afraid i just seam to have lost the excitement that there use to be in wrapping presents ,so now i use gift bags , unless it is a gift for a child , then i tend to go with a good quality charity paper featuring Santa and snowmen. Good luck in the New Year.

Cards - ones that are cute or unusual, don't like glittery ones cos the the glitter gets everywhere, don't like traditional scenes as they look too old fashioned. Don't really like cartoon ones or ones with animals on them. I like the cards from paperchase

Wrapping paper - not really bothered by it because it just gets ripped off and not looked at. I always put bows on it though.

Modern, funny and cartoony are the type of Xmas cards I buy for friends.

Then, for my next door neighbours and other people who are older, I buy old christmas cards. You know the sort, traditional, with holly and ivy?

I didn't buy any. But I prefer the ones with the Christmas Story on as Christmas is slowly losing its real, original meaning.

  • Beautiful, recycled cards that said, "Merry Christmas" and vintage paper...the stuff that's been in Grandma's attic for 30 years.

mine are charity cards only....and only from the charity shop itself as then they get all of the proceeds. i chose the British Heart Foundation this year...i try to alternate each year.

i tend to go for cute animal cards though.
